Since you all seem to like starting 100 threads about the same thing I request that we sticky this one and have the discussions here. (I'm aware I'm doing the same thing, but it is in an effort to condense this crap.)
My take: If we aren't in a BCS bowl it shouldn't be a big deal which bowl we get as long as it is decent (Dec, 31 or later). The only thing you should really care about is our opponent and the likelyhood of a higher number of viewers. We played in the CFA bowl against Miami when we were ranked 9th and 10th. It was a great game for us and got us even more recognition than we already had.
The only reason you should be a little upset is because we are basically being called the 5th best in the SEC. Regardless, the fact that we have a very appealing bowl game and can once again shut up a team who underestimates the power of LSU and the SEC is awesome. The fake tigers and their death valley claim can be silenced with a LSU victory.
We are playing in a very good bowl, against a good opponent, with a ton of viewers, in a state where this will help recruiting, etc.
If you disagree with this please feel free to offer a rebuttal. However, please do it in this thread instead of starting CFA Thread #218
I am infuriated about this bowl though, because I won't be able to watch a second of it. That will be very hard for a fan who never misses a snap and never leaves early.

IMO people are making way too big of a deal about the name of the bowl. Its not a BCS bowl, and that's really all that matters. I'd rather be in the Peach Bowl than the Cap 1 bowl anyway. Remember how much a disgrace that game was last time we were there?
And just because we were the 5th team picked doesn't mean we were the 5th best team. Bowl selection isn't about the best teams, its about politics and $$$$$
And after all of that, we're still getting one of the better matchups. Would you want to play Michigan or the Nebraska team that just got spanked by Wisconsin?

I am glad that the peach bowl has supported LSU over the years.
I don't care what ranking Clemson has, they are a second rate wanna be. I'm about as excited over this game as I would be to play nc state.
Clemson on the other hand will be very excited to "test ther might".
I do not look forward to the naming of this game "the battle for death valley".
Everyone knows we have the real dv.
