I have been looking at the masticating juicers because they arent as expensive as the twin gear, however they still operate at low RPMs compared to centrifugal juicers.

The only drawback to juicing is that the fruit or veggie losing most of it fiber during the process

Can anyone recommend a masticating juicer (~$300) that keeps a healthy dose of the fruits/ vegs pulp

My sentiments will probably be echoed here by my fellow posters when I say that the juicer usually ends up collecting dust on a shelf once it's realized that they're too much work to clean for the final resulting product.

I honestly haven't used mine in years. I originally bought it for the bumper crops of apples when I was in the North.

Some will say juicers take too long to clean, but by Breville takes all of 3 minutes to clean. Mine leaves the pulp behind, so I make up for it by adding in fiber after.

Everyone I've ever known to buy a juicer uses it a couple times and never again. It's a pain and its expensive as shite. Better off buying juice.

You may be thinking about this the wrong way. The reason juicing is healthy is because by removing the fiber you are able to get a megadose of nutrients in your juice.

Visualize the amount of produce that it would take to produce a meals worth of juice. Now, would you be able to eat all of that in one sitting? I bet not.

I have a breville juicer both at work and home. I probably juice about 3-4 times per week for breakfast and lunch. I use my juicer regularly, but I would use it more if it were easier to clean, although it only takes 5 minutes to clean it well.

yeah, i realize that w/o the fiber the nutrients of the juice invades your cells much faster.

however, i have also read that absorbing too much of the juice w/o fiber can cause an unhealthy increase in insulin levels (mainly w fruit, carrots, beats)

the fiber slows digestion of the fructose

ive read more and now im leaning towards just juicing veggies (to cut out the sugar, thus not needing to worry about the fiber)
