I don't hang out with them, it's people that just start talking to me about it...like at work Most of my friends are normal, and realize how good we have it.

I remain amazed at some of the posters. Miles is the winningest coach in LSU history (with more than 2 years at the helm), 3rd longest tenure in the school's history, one of only 3 coaches with more than one SEC Championship at LSU, only one to have played in two BCS championship games. One of only three to win a national championship. He has had LSU ranked in the top 5 four times, more than any any coach in LSU history, and possibly 5 if he finishes in the top 5 this year. He has won more than 50% of his games against top 10 opponents, 50% against top 5. LSU is in the best run in its history. Those are the facts. You can quibble about specific games and calls, but the overall results speak for themselves. Miles is among the elite coaches in SEC history in the most competitive era in its history. Period.

There ya go. Most people understand LSU's place in the football world, and most want to get to the next level as well.

It isn't a bad thing to want another championship

This is all most are doing. A few drama queens think everyone wants Miles fired, but fortunately they are also few and far between. Some of the worst offenders are in this thread. Most love the state of the program but do want to take things to another level. Only one other school is at that level right now.

What is the next level? We all want another championship, but geez, it isn't like LSU isn't contending against other elite teams every season. LSU is at a level that it has never consistently been in in its more than 100 year history, and it is Miles that has kept LSU there. Give the guy some credit.

But Miles is as well positioned to win it again as anyone we could have.

Best chance we have had/will have was last year. I think as most sane, normal football fans that he will need to tinker with the offense a bit to get there again, and win it all. The window isn't getting larger.

The BCS changed the football world and expectations in a negative way IMO, hopefully the playoff situation will change it for the better and it will increase LSU's chances of winning a title.

No. It's 2 losses and back to the Peach Bowl.

If we stay healthy and get some breaks like Bama seems to get, we have a good chance. If we had Bama's schedule this year, who knows, we might be in the Sugar instead. Our biggest struggle has been getting the QB position where we want it. Hopefully that is starting to turn in the right direction with Mett and recent recruits. I think the playoffs can help LSU too. I still think Miles has another NC coming.

Eh, I think he is happy with the current state of the program. Will see, I just think the window is closing, and 1/9 was the best chance for a while. 10 wins and a chicken bowl isn't bad, not complaining but "playing not to lose" seems to be the short term future.

Yes, he is. Being 10-2 every year (yes, with the golden exception of getting assraped in the BCSCG by a conference opponent and, of course, the full-retard years when he made his idiot buddies co-coordinators) is nice per se but in this situation, it's like having a 12 inch dick but never getting laid. Backing into a BCSCG because of a true mathematical miracle was great, but not a sign of elite coaching.

But really, I'd settle for an OC who can get LSU's offense into the TOP frickING 100 for starters.

But it ain't gonna happen. Miles is the real OC and he thinks it's Michigan, 1975. How you people manage to defend this, I will never know.

I think we are missing opportunities, yes.

It just concerns some people more than others.

So you would be happy being Baylor? I'd rather be in the top 5 and have a shot at a NC than have a top one hundred offense and not smell a top 10 ranking. Maybe you should become a Big 12 fan.

And backing into a NC, Saban has done it twice and maybe the third time this year. He's lucky too. Last year he got rewarded for not winning his division. 2003 he got a gift from USC. This year he got gifted too. Give it a rest.

Miles isn't perfect, but gee, he is only the best coach in LSU history

Who cares? We are still #7. We still finished ahead of 4 teams playing in January from the SEC. Clemson is a better matchup nationally than playing Nebraska or Michigan.

Does the 17.5 hours mean that much to you guys?

List of teams playing in January:
Northwestern
Purdue
Ok State
Pitt
Ole Miss
Kent St.
Ark St.

This list tells me that playing in January does mean shite anymore. What matters is where you are ranked at the end of the season and what you have returning b/c that's what sets you up for a championship run the following year. You people need to stop living in the past. Playing in January is irrelevant unless we are in the BCS.
