I left my dogs (yellow lab male, 7 years old, and my black lab 6 months) out today. Somebody stole my black lab right out of my yard. No possible way she got out, I leave both of dogs in the backyard everyday. Any possible way I can find the people responsible. I live in the hundred oaks area.

I lived in lake beau pre in college and rumor was a guy running drugs down river road from north BR to gardere would stop in and steal dogs out of peoples yards and sell them. That's about as low as you can go in my book

How do the utility companies check your meters? Do they have a person come into the back yard or do they have one of those trucks that read your meters from the street?

The Meter Man would know you had a dog.

Would there be any chance that someone (neighborhood kids, utility people, etc)would have opened the gate and the dog ran out? In the past if the gate was opened did the dog tend to bolt?

I thought about that, but I think both dogs would be gone?

True Story: My neighbor from across the street stole my Labrador when I was six. His parents brought her back.

At least his parents were decent people. Was he 6 also?

The older dog might have known not to leave the yard or both could have gotten out and the person that opened the gate was able to get the older dog back in the gate. I would handle this on a duel front, both as thief and lost dog, nothing to lose....

I like where you are going with this.

There is actually a very complex order to dueling. A quarrel must be settled by sundown or the obligation is considered satisfied. So, sabres at dawn...if you continue to fight until sunset...end of affront.
