Pray hard OB. I dont have many details at all yet, but a 11 year old was shot in the head while hunting with his father this morning. Shotgun. Lets not speculate on what happened. Just pray hard. Its not looking good.

I was busy all day today and didn't have the opportunity to update.
Here is an update taken from family member of Brandt from facebook.
"Update on Brandt... They have already started decreasing Brandt's sedation. He is opening his eyes on and off and sitting up and laying back down"
On Tuesday December 4, the family is having a blood drive at the Maringouin Medical Center located at 77695 Wagley Road in Maringouin. Any questions call 225.625.2313
In addition, I believe anyone can go to the Lady of the Lake Hospital's blood bank and donate on his behalf.
A prayer vigil was held last night at Livonia High School with a huge turnout from the community. Please continue to keep this kid and his family in your prayers.

I'm going to assume you're an X-ray tech by your user name. And by that your info is probably pretty good. So sad to hear that.

Duck-hunting juvenile shot in head
December 01, 2012
1 COMMENTS
A 15-year-old boy was shot in the head and injured early Saturday in a duck-hunting accident in Livonia, the Pointe Coupee Sheriff’s Office said.
The boy, whose name was not released, suffered a non-life threatening head injury from a 12-gauge shotgun, Capt. Steve Juge said.
The teenager was one of three boys in a boat in Grosse Tete Bayou, Juge said. One of the other hunters, also 15, swung to shoot at a duck but shot the victim instead, Juge said.
The injured boy was taken to Our Lady of the Lake Medical Regional Center, Juge said.

How is that possible? I'm hoping for the best.

There is no excuse for this.

Im hoping the advocate is accurate on the injury. However im hearing its a bit more serious than they are releasing

When we were that age we were adamant about not bird/duck hunting with anyone we weren't sure was competent with a gun. Sad.

Is this the same accident or two different? Horrible, horrible, horrible...
