I am in the minority on this one, but I agree with the fining. It would be one thing to rest a starter, but Pop leaves all of his best players home on a night where they were being featured in a prime time game, just to do it. It was a douche move.

Im sure it had nothing to do with the billion games they were playing in a short time period and his team being near nursing home age

I hope Pop does it again the next game

Its asinine. The man should be able to coach as he sees fit.

The Spurs should send a Brinks armored truck to NBA headquarters with $250k in pennies. And Stern could be required to count each and every one.

Since November 13 they haven't had more than 1 day between games. I'd say the NBA needs to worry about how they schedule more than the Spurs sitting players. Also, I hate the Spurs.

This fine crosses the line. Pop made a strategic long term move for his team. Is the NBA gonna start fining teams that play a boring brand of basketball?

I bet Pop thought nothing of it too when he decided to bench them too... Well not nothing, but I'm sure he didn't see his actions as fine able by any means. So now Stern dictates coaching strategies? What a fricking loser.

We'll find out, but I'm sure the owner is none too happy for having to pay 250,000.

I bet Pop sits them one at a time throughout the year, as he has been doing for years.

That $ should go to the fans who bought tickets to that game. Pop should be fined a ton of $ and suspended for awhile. Seriously what Pop did could be considered game fixin.

Biggest bunch of bull shite I've ever heard of. Stern needs to fricking give it up. Regardless of whether or not the Spurs benched their starters I still wouldn't have watched the game. You want to know why? Because I had no fricking idea it was on and I live in San Antonio. This is not the PR Stern should be bringing to the NBA.

Na son he had planned to do this since the beginning of the season when looking at the schedule. Nothing to do with primetime.
