3 week vacation in Hawaii according to the news on TV. But, if you say he's not working hard, you're a racist. How many days was he in meetings with Congress this week on the fiscal cliff problem?

It's likely the case that he won't be there the entire time. This would be consistent with previous years.

Or I look at the past and use that as an indication of potential future behavior.

The pressure is on Republicans to cave so there's no rush from Obama's perspective. Go over the cliff and reinstate the tax cuts the Dems prefer after. If the Repubs balk at that point they lose even more of the middle class. Not a bad strategy.

Pretty much this. Obama painted the republicans into a corner in the election. And now he is reaping the rewards. Republicans just got out maneuvered by a black liberation atheist muslim communist kenyan fascist homosexual chicago pol.

Republicans may just have to be ready to lose the House for 2 years. They need to learn to think long term. Then when it all hits the fan, the Dems get blamed in 2016. That's how the Dems work, 2 steps forward, 1 step backward.

If you're a fiscal conservative then it should be a good thing to go over the cliff right? What gives?

So the last time the U.S. had 4 straight years of trillion dollar deficits while facing at least 4 more years of trillion dollar deficits and faced mandatory draconian cuts in spending and income tax increases affecting approximately 65% of the population the President of the United States went on vacation to Hawaii? Seriously? Good to know. Thanks.

I do get a kick out of the people that claim the president is awful at his job, and then say he doesn't work enough. "That restaurant sucks. The food is terrible and portions are too small"

why would fiscal conservatives be against going off the so called 'fiscal cliff'? It's just a word that makes it sound like a bad thing. What it acually does is cut spending, widens the tax base, and balances the budget. They should be all for it. I am all for it myself. Will it destroy the economy in the short term and not so short term? yes. Will it be good for the country in the long term? yes.

I 100% support the idea of letting ALL of the Bush tax cuts getting reversed and implementing ALL of the required spending cuts. I truly hope it happens.
