I could see it coming, the writing has been on the wall ever since he moved away from the 80s grunge filmography in my mind.
He also said that he hates that the industry has gone digital and that is not "What he signed up for". He said that it's too easy to do digital, and if he was forced to do digital he'd do a miniseries because he wasn't limited by film.
