I have watched 4 episodes and have tried to get into it but it just seems like a daytime soap with some cheesy "horror" plots.

Am I wrong?

Does it get better?

The second season is incredible. First season is pretty good. Worth your time

This season started a little slow but has taken a glorious turn to greatness the past 2 episodes. One of the best, most creative shows in a long time.

It never fails that people like something and then want the same exact thing the next go round. Season 2, while it started a little slow, has been awesome.

I think the opposite

Stout, it's a pretty good show. If you're watching season 2 then I can see where you think it's too many horror stories combined into one

I never said I wanted something the same.

I said season 1 was better. Which it is.

That's not to say season 2 is bad. It's not....I like it a lot.

If I told you a girl's right tit is better than her left tit....does that mean lefty is bad?

frick no....its a fricking titty.

SPOILERS KINDA

That's fine, but the in season thread is a bunch of people basically hysterical that they didn't follow last season's formula. I really like season 1. "Pretty good" is not meant to be derisive. I'm just blown away by season 2. They took risks. They chose a new story, setting, etc...as I hoped they would. They changed the format entirely. I will admit to being a little surprised that the show was completely set in the 60s and have "flashbacks" to the present, and even then they have only had a cold open set in the present like twice. I've just been really impressed with the show so far.

i love all of that too.

But Season 1 was amazing television and writing that blows Season 2 out the water (which isnt anything negative on S2).

ETA I dont think anyone said anything about a formula. AHS doesnt have a formula and id really be intrested in what said formula would be

The show is too complicated to have a formula for either season

SPOILERS

Formula for season 1

Cold Open: flashback to show events prior to the season that slowly explain mysteries of the house

Present day events

Also, season 2 is lacking in the ghost and haunting categories which alot of fans seem to not like

I didn't say you did. It's the general sentiment of people who love season 1 and are meh on S2 or just flat out don't like season 2

Ive never heard that sentiment anywhere so im confused on how its the general sentiment

Most people who didnt/dont like S2 were because of the ridiculous expectations they had going in and they were turned off by the aliens

I think this is it. Season 1 was awesome. Season 2, while not quite as good yet IMO, is still some pretty damn good TV

And that's what I like about it so much. The creative opportunities are endless and it will never have to be stale
