How did he play this year? I saw him play a few times last year and looked pretty athletic.

He was outstanding. They had him playing a lot of safety and he shut down every single tight end we faced. Unbelievable talent and size

Which one of these kids are/will be LSU recruits?

Gary Tripplett definitely could be.

Kid is a play maker. Most of the other guys on the list are good football players but size will keep them from major college ball most likely

Triplett is the closest. My honest opinion though is that if they kept Jake Myer at TE and showcased him next season he could start at LSU as a freshman/sophomore. He's 6'3" 210 right now with excellent hands and speed. Blocks very well also. Huge threat but they didn't utilize him as much as he would need to become a big name. Unfortunately I don't believe they have any other options at QB besides him next season so it will probably mess up his recruiting. There is a rumor that Catholic's QB Nick Cooms is transferring to Central for his senior season because he lives in Central but I don't know if there is any truth to that

This is just a ridiculous statement

Meyer is a stud but LSU is another level.

I think his game as a QB favors Colin Klein. He's a little shorter but they are actually quite similar. He doesn't have the greatest throwing mechanics but only because he hasn't worked a great deal at QB.

I have watched him from junior high to this point. He is a definite D1 football player but not LSU level.

Hes also an 18 year old junior and has never impressed me at QB. Never understood the coaches taking out Courville to run the "wildcat" with him. Hes slightly bigger but way slower atleast at the word go. The off the field issues dont help his cause either

At TE hes a physical presence but again hes old as shite

Being 18 would explain some of his impressive physicality.

I'm not aware of off the field issues.

Kevin Henry reminds me of Eric Reid.

I remember last season when they plucked him off of the freshman team and i saw him and did a double take. He was bigger than most of the seniors that year at any position and he was a freshman DB

Half related: It was crazy seeing Louis Covington tackling LSU players a couple weeks ago in the Ole Miss game

I agree with the throwing mechanics. I think he has great hands and great speed for a TE. Off the field issues are the biggest problem he has IMO. I can fault him for his age, that is what it is. I think he's a for sure D1 TE. I can't say that for QB until I see how he does next season. Kevin Henry - i can't say anything else besides that kid is a monster and a huge D1 prospect
