As per Adam Shefter

quote:

Saints OC Pete Carmichael Jr., a BC graduate, is on radar of BC athletic dept. as a potential HC, per source.

Not sure who the source is.

next up to learn under The Master Play Designer and Wizard Play Caller. Biggest balls and playsheet in the NFL.

Pretty much

Carmichael is only the OC in name and has had mixed results when making the calls. Granted, SP is a tough act to follow

Solid playcaller and has probably learned a lot under Payton in regards to philosophies. Would be a great hire for BC.

Whenever he does leave the Saints I'd be curious to see if Payton just calls the play again and promotes a guy like Lombardi

debatable so far without Payton, but he definitely has potential if he is given a few seasons on his own.

He will definitely call the plays after watching this season.

Payton can handle the job of OC IMO.

I would like to know the the count as how many plays Payton and Carmichael designed. Id say Payton 75% Pete 25%.

Me neither. I think he has potential, remember Payton made some crazy calls the first two years he was here, then calmed down.

So Petey definitely has room for improvement, but i think with experience he could develop into a good OC. I dont know if he has enough of that fierceness to be a HC, but an OC is possible.

I like him for what he does for us, but I don't see him as the HC type.

It's Boston College. That's a great hire for them whether we think Carmichael is a top NFL playcaller or not.

Not sure he's really a head coach. He wasn't even named the Saints HC.. Even during Vitt's suspension.. Although I do recognize college is different and I agreed with letting him focus on OC..
