My parents just moved to NC and my dad is thinking of trying fly fishing. I want to get him some lessons or a class for Christmas so he can try it out before he buys all the gear.

Any recommendations or tips on what I should be looking for? Or any great outfitters I should be looking at around the Asheville area? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Quick google search found this Asheville, North Carolina 2-Day Fly Fishing School

Orvis has a store there, I am sure they can point you i nhe right direction if nothing else surfaces...

Thanks, I'll look into that one. We have some others found through google, but I thought I might try the outdoor board to see if anyone had some ones they'd recommend or thought were good.

Instead of buying flyfishing lessons there are a few fly shops in the area and I'm sure there is a fly fishing club. The shop will more than likely love to help him with learning to cast and club will help with learning the local waters and the techniques.

You could also just hire a guide.
