Yesterday I went hunting at our place in SW MS. It was a full moon Saturday and Sunday night or close to it. I woke up a little late in the morning and got in the stand around 645 and didn't see a thing. Around 1030 or so I decided to get down and walk around. I saw a few deer in another plot that I planned on bow hunting that night. I didn't take shot because I had my rifle and really wanted to get one with the bow. So on my way to the stand in the afternoon there was a small buck (not a shooter) in the same plot but once he stared me down for a few minutes he ran blew and ran off. I didn't see anything for the rest of the hunt.

Does the moon cause them to feed all night and come out in the middle of the day or was it just coincidence?

When there's a full moon out DURING THE DAY, hunt. That's what a friend, who's killed many, told me.

I thought I heard that from someone but couldn't recall who or when. I'm one of those hunt in the morning do a little work around the camp during the day then hunt the evening kind of hunters.

Electric company cut a little path next to the gate for the poles so my dad and I put about 100 feet of chain linked fence along the property/road line. That's why I wasn't hunting. Had trouble with trespassers few years ago who made their own little path and drove in with 4 wheelers and stole my cameras.

Well I'm no deer hunter but even I know that you're doing it backwards. At least as the season progresses, go in the middle of the day when the hunters leave and it's quiet.

They can see better in a full moon and move all night.

from some deer hunting site

Major Times
9:34 AM - 11:34 AM
9:56 PM - 11:56 PM

Minor Times
3:54 AM - 4:54 AM
3:07 PM - 4:07 PM

so I saw deer during both the major time and minor times that were during the day. Guess I have to pay attention to it more. I used to have the time2hunt app that told you the times

Here's a very law-abiding citizen who's never spot-lighted deer.

I get what you're saying but it seemed like not to many people were in the woods and I was the only one hunting our 175 acres.

"moon overhead" and "moon underfoot" are Suppose to be you major and minor feeding times. Althought I think there are many more variables like: high or low pressure, temps, human pressure, food sources, and more.

Most people kill them early in the morning or late in the evening so I'm sure you'll be okay.

The moon does have a lot to do with predictable movement, and I pay attention to it, but most of my success has come hunting before and after fronts.

I should be hunting midday right now from what I've seen from a few of my cameras from the last week/10 days, but I just can't find the time. From what I've seen, you've likely had a pretty boring week if you've only been hunting 6-9 a.m. and 3-6 p.m. this week.

I'm so ready for about December 9th to get here, I can't hardly stand it. A little after that date is when I've historically started having a lot of success. You find 5 or 6 days between about Dec 10th and about Jan 10th where there's a perfect storm of rutting, a front, and moon phase, then I get giddy.
