Admittedly not a follower of NFL like college ball I was wondering what was the general consensus on which player was a better grab for their respective organizations. What does the board think??

I think they're both great for their teams and neither team has any regrets. However, RG3 has been ridiculously good thus far, and is in a lot of people's MVP discussion

Do you think that is due to him having a better supporting cast or he will just be the better nfl QB?

Whose? Doug Martin is more of an MVP consideration at this point than RGIII.

RGIII has a above average arm along with world class speed, while Luck has better Football instincts and overall arm talent. They are both great but are very diffrent from each other

Definitely goes to RGIII.

I disagree.

eta: RGIII throws the best deep ball in the NFL. He's got something like 7 or 8 plays of 65+ yards through the air.

His arm is insane. Throws 60 yard bombs on. Rope

And that rollout pass last week was one of the best passes ive ever seen

Ok let's look at this statement closely by comparin just their rushing stats

RG3 has 642 yards on 99 attempts (6.5 avg) and 6 TDs on the ground

Doug Martin has 1050 yards on 218 attempts (4.8 avg) and 9 TDs.

The difference is 408 yards and 3 TDs. So you're saying that what RG3 has done in the passing game (2500 yards, 16 TDs, 104.6 rating) does not make up for that difference in the rushing game.

Anyway let's not derail the thread.

RG3 is better but you have to worry about him staying healthy

I would bet that Luck has a better career.

Luck has a bigger frame than RG3 and might be able to take more hits over his career. Hope both stay healthy as they will be fun to watch for the next 10 years.

Running back DeMarco Murray was also on the practice field and going through some on-field rehab, but he could practice some this week after missing the last six games with a sprained left foot.

I personally don't think that either of them is even in the Top 10 in MVP consideration.

The only players even in consideration are:

Peyton
Ryan
AP
Brady
Brees
Rodgers (at least up until last night)
JJ Watt
