No one talking about Tulane here, Les!

I wouldn't mind seeing Tech vs ULL in the New Orleans bowl.

He probably attended SELU.

Isn't there some rule about a 6-6 team only getting an invite if all 7-win teams already have bids?
I believe that is correct but shouldn't have any effect on ULM 8-4 and Tech 9-3(I believe) unless you were referring to one of the teams they were competing against for a bowl spot having a 6 or 7 win season. I'm not a homer for either unlike the poster saying ULM would be left out. They were just too much fun to watch this season against better teams than Tech played IMHO. That and I spoke to Coach Berry and their Asst. AD after we held our youth tourney there this weekend and they were putting together the bowl practice schedule for today. Pretty sure they know more than any of us self appointed experts.

Just a general reply to the thread. A couple people thought a 7-win team would be left out and I wasn't sure if that was possible.

It's def. possible depending on who that 7 loss them is. If this were a year where a ULM or Tech had only 7 wins they would more than likely be watching from the house bell I want to say tech was left out with an 8 or 9 win season in a previous year. Where as a 6 or 7 win team from a major conf. would probably make it in compared to some of the lower tiered 6 or 7 win teams. Long story short I believe the two of us are on the same page b

The rule regarding 6-6 teams being selected after 7 win teams only applies when a bowl is selecting a team from a conference they do not have a tie in with.
For example, South Carolina and Bama both finished 6-6 in 2007 and the Independence Bowl selected Bama. Since that filled all SEC tie ins SC could only be selected for another bowl after all 7 win teams were selected, which is why they did not get a bowl invite that year.

GT has NOT received a waiver as those do not exist anymore
Except this happened just last year. See UCLA.

After that the NCAA put a rules into effect starting this year. Right now a 6-7 conference championship loser is third under the new bowl order rules:
1.) 6-6 teams with 1 FCS win
2.) 6-6 teams with 2 FCS wins
3.) 6-7 conference championship game loser
4.) FCS to FBS transitioning teams at least 6-6
5.) Top 5 APR teams with 5-7 records

Pretty certain it's Memphis or Shreve for ULM. Hoping for the latter.

You beat ULM because they lost their qb in first quarter and the score difference is because your POS scored on last play of game when you could have taken a knee

LULZ we lost our starting QB like the 2nd or 3rd game. So stop making excuses. You got your arse whipped. And don't get me started on that last play where y'all blitzed the whole team. Take a knee on 4th down does nothing LUL

Do me a favor, find your balls and then give me an excuse for the last 4 times too.
Also, that last play is 100% on Berry being an idiot. Wipe up your tears and pull yourself together man.

It's funny you say this b/c the folks onTV put up the injured QB's stats compared to the new QB and the back up was head and shoulders above the guys he replaced. So technically ULL was better with the back up than they were with the usual guy. Numbers don't lie. You should check them out.

If you read this thread and then read the thread title, you get a chuckle.

ULM beat Arkansas because they lost their starting QB. And ULM blitzed everyone on that last play. What did you expect?

YMCA,
When TECH was an independent in the 1990s they sat at home with an 8-3 record (with a win over Alabama) one year and a 9-2 record (wins against Cal and Alabama) another. Not much love back then. Also, there were not 500 bowl games.
