Hunted 3 Rivers WMA Friday and Saturday. We had 3 misses in our group (1 hog, 1 buck, 1 doe). We did get one hog and my brother got his first deer, a 3 point. He was pretty excited. There were lots of hogs killed. The guys camping next to us killed 5 hogs and a 10 point and the other group killed at least 3-4 hogs and an 8 point.

Sounds like a good hunt.

Did yall happen to see any ducks out there? I have been wanting to try and duck hunt the place, just can't decide if it's worth it to make the trip up there.

Place looks prime for greenheads from google earth.

I have several friends that hunt there for ducks and on good years they slaughter the green heads

It is as dry as i have ever seen it up there. Most of the sloughs that usually hold water are completly dry. I did see several flights of wood ducks and geese but no big ducks. I also heard some duck hunters shooting pretty early which would leave me to believe they were shooting woodies also. I have seen quite a few mallards there before. There are some beautiful duck hunting spots around there.

Thanks for the info.

My interest was peaked due to a deer hunt I made about 30 miles north of the south side of the WMA last January, where I literally sat and watched hundreds of greenheads come in and out of a slough that my stand was near. Made me sick I didn't bring my shotgun up.

Looks like the sloughs on the east side of the levee by blackhawk should hold.

I believe the closer you get to Blackhawk, the more water there is.

I don't know. I stayed on the South end of the property the whole time I was there.

I know the owners of Blackhawk and spent some time there when they were setting up the high fence and building the lodge it is very low around the back of that property that borders the WMA. There was a shite ton of wood ducks there in the late 90's. I have also seem some absolute monster deer come off that WMA. Mostly at night though ...
