Springfield is my home town and we beat Many last week to win what was billed the public school championship being as we were te only two public schools left in the playoffs. Anyone seen John Curtis play this year? What type of offense do they run and think there is anyway in hell Springfiled pulls the upset?

You gon get raped. Curtis is by far the best team in the state this year. They run the same split back veer, but they are loaded this year. Not trying to be mean, but you'll be down 35 at the half.

I don't think there is any way they win, but being from the LP I'll be pulling for the Bulldogs!

i'd do the dirtiest (not hurting anyone) / trickiest things i could think of against JC.
you have nothing to lose. if not trying anything different - Curtis 42-6. then JT will come over and congratulate all of the Bulldog players and get that jive speech.

Is the OP really serious? John Curtis is bigger than Tulane. I'll say 59-7 Curtis.

Unfortunately Curtis is ranked number 1 in the nation in the USA Today prep poll. Great year by Springfield and a shame little schools like that have to play private schools like Curtis in the playoffs.

Great year for the bulldogs but to stay witthin 40 would be a huge accomplishment.

When u can recruit I never understood how u can fully enjoy the win. I mean I'm happy when lsu beats Towson but it's not same playing field

There are more public schools than private schools in the semi finals.

Springfield is atown of 350 people

Double A semis is Curtis, Evangel, and Uhigh

Curtis may win national championship, evangel could win just about every class championship any year

Uhigh has all the LSU coaches kids....just not really a level playing field for a little public school

All that is great, but none of that negates the fact that there are more public schools in the semis than private.

Also, it's not like Curtis and Evangel just all of a sudden showed up in the playoffs. They've been in 2a for years since the public school principals made an arse-backwards decision that is only now being reversed for next season.

I agree. The 5A and 4A public schools didn't want any,ore of them so they pushed them back down to enrollment size I am sure both schools preferred to play up as they both could play their JV in double A all the way to the dome every year

Playing up helps level the playing field. In other states in the south that have public and private schools in the same leagues, the private school enrollment is calculated using a multiplier. So each student is counted as like 1.3 or 1.5 kids. The idiots in Louisiana thought it would be better to make them play at their actual enrollment instead.

What is the percentage of public schools across the state vs private schools? Take that and compare what percentage are in the playoffs. I don't know what the results would be I am just asking. Also most private schools are local type schools not football factories like Evangel and John Curtis.
