Hey fellas, was having thanksgiving dinner at my inlaws last night here in GA and my sister-in-law brought another couple to dinner who had no family in town....anyway turns out in conversation he is the athletic trainer for Marietta high school. I asked him what he thought about Jennings.
Said you know, he is the real deal, being close to his recruitment he wouldn't have thought 2yrs ago the kid would have been highly recruited, was very immature and not responsible but has grown up quicker than any other player he has been around. Said he was a quiet leader who leads by example, puts in the extra time after practice and studies more film than any high schooler he has ever seen.
I asked about his qb style and about the upset playoff performance last week. Said he is a passer first and a runner only as last option, led his team to a huge upset last week, team took a 4 hour roadtrip to play the #6 team in the state who has won numerous state titles, no one gave them a shot and he led the team to 4 TD's, 3 nice passes and then an 80+ yd TD run late in the game to seal it.
They are headed south for round 2 of the playoffs today against Lovejoy (sp?) And again no one expects Marietta to win, this team is the #7 team in the state. Said Lovejoy has two fast stud DE's so expect plenty of quick short passes from AJ. Would love to see them win again and get a home game, he invited me to watch with him from the sidelines.
Anyway, thought it was good insight to a future tiger. He was down to LSU, Wisconsin and Nebraska. He ruled out GA after they took a commitment from camden's qb early and he wanted to play in the sec.

LSU QB situation is going to be nice the next few years, great talent, which should lead to great competition in the spring !!! 
Can't wait to see who takes the reigns after Mett....

Hopefully Les molds him into a good QB. That's been our weakest position since Matt Flynn was here.

Lovejoy is a black school with a ton of athletes, but never accomplish much of anything.

Update: Marietta lost to Lovejoy 36-15, will post AJ's stats when I get them......time to come to Baton Rouge! Join the rest of the GA boys having success on the bayou!

I hope no one is seriously upset about my "black" comment. Just the way it is in that area. I grew up in Clayton County till I was 12 years old. Jonesboro, Morrow, Forest Park, Riverdale, North Clayton, etc...Generally these schools will have a ton of big time athletes but never do much damage when it comes time for the playoffs.

tough loss for them, Jennings really drove that team this year
