Jackson will hand in his resignation to House Speaker John Boehner, the source said.
Jackson had planned on a press conference to announce his resignation but not able to bring himself to speak about it, the source said.
The announcement comes after mounting pressure faced by Jackson as federal investigators appeared to widen their ongoing investigation into the congressman’s activities.

Did he agree to get his disability payments? Amazing how the story of a sitting congressman, son of a "civil rights leader" extoring funds the way he has was just glossed over the last 6 months.

yes. $20k to redecorate his home and possibly $40k for a Rolex watch he gave to a lady friend. not sure if he will be spared jail time but he may get a reduction.

I don't remember but it was a credible source. It was one of the left leaning news reports on twitter if I remember correctly? Huffington Post, Slate, or DailyBeast which have good sources.
