BOWL PROJECTIONS

Remember this are just for fun. For the record, my true Chick-fil-A Bowl projection was USCe vs. Clemson, but I just can't see the organizers doing it (since they play the last week of the season). So I flopped that bowl with the Outback in the SEC pecking order.

Filling in the MAC and Sun Belt teams is always a chore. So if some stuff looks off, it might well be. The MAC tends to wait to see where bowls need at-large fill-ins and see if they can get a better matchup for one of their better schools.

Only one team - Central Michigan - was left out of a bowl game.

National Championship - Notre Dame vs. Alabama
Rose Bowl - Stanford vs. Nebraska
Orange Bowl - Florida State vs. Rutgers
Sugar Bowl - LSU vs. Oklahoma
Fiesta Bowl - Kansas State vs. Oregon

New Mexico Bowl - Nevada vs. Arizona State
Idaho Potato Bowl - Ball State vs. Utah State
Poinsettia Bowl - San Diego State vs. BYU
Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl Kent State vs. Central Florida
New Orleans Bowl - Rice vs. Arkansas State
Las Vegas Bowl - Boise State vs. USC
Hawaii Bowl - San Jose State vs. Fresno State
Little Caesars Pizza Bowl - Western Kentucky vs. Northern Illinois
Military Bowl - Toledo vs. UL-Lafayette
Belk Bowl - Virginia Tech vs. Cincinnati
Holiday Bowl - TCU vs. UCLA
Independence Bowl - NC State vs. Louisiana Tech
Russell Athletic Bowl - Georgia Tech vs. Louisville
Meineke Car Care Bowl - Purdue vs. Baylor
Armed Forces Bowl - East Carolina vs. Air Force
Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl - Arizona vs. Navy
Pinstripe Bowl - Syracuse vs. West Virginia
Alamo Bowl - Oklahoma State vs. Oregon State
Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl - Michigan State vs. Texas Tech
Music City Bowl - Vanderbilt vs. Duke
Sun Bowl - Miami vs. Washington
Liberty Bowl - Ole Miss vs. Tulsa
Chick-fil-A Bowl - Clemson vs. Florida
Gator Bowl - Mississippi State vs. Northwestern
Heart of Dallas Bowl - Minnesota vs. Iowa State
Capital One Bowl - Georgia vs. Michigan
Outback Bowl - South Carolina vs. Wisconsin
Cotton Bowl - Texas A&M vs. Texass
BBVA Compass Bowl - Ohio vs. Middle Tennessee State
GoDaddy.com Bowl - Bowling Green vs. UL-Monroe

Big 12 sending 8/10 to bowls, possibly 9/10.

Baylor gets TTU on a neutral field and Okie State at home. I'll give them credit enough for winning one game. WVU will beat Kansas to get to six wins.

Like the Fiesta Bowl. Battle of the 2 teams who would have played each other in the NC if they didn't choke.

Is there any way Kent State/Northern Illinois and Arkansas State could end up playing each other?

I would put Clemson ahead of OU.

Clemson seems to think they will end up in the sugar bowl if they beat USCe next week

There is a chance, I suppose. The New Orleans Bowl is definitely going to take Arky State if they win the SBC. If Rice somehow loses to UTEP, Conference USA won't be able to fill that bid.

Perhaps, then, discussions could take place for the MAC winner to come to New Orleans.

Certainly possible. OU and Clemson could both get a bid if Stanford loses next week to UCLA and Oregon wins the Civil War. Oregon would go to the Rose (if they win the Pac-12 title game), Clemson would go to the Fiesta, and Oklahoma to the Sugar.

What does that even mean? You could say the same about any conference.

Possibly 2 BCS games and the Cotton

I almost agree completely with your BCS bowls, unless Florida beats FSU. A&M could steal the bid, as well. And I also think Louisville beats Rutgers.

Given that VT is still not bowl eligible (though they should beat Virginia next week to become so) and that the Belk Bowl picks two spots ahead of the Independence Bowl, are you sure they would pick VT ahead of a more local NC State?

(Normally I don't care about the minor bowls except that I like shopping at Belk so this is my favorite minor bowl besides Chick-Fil-A).

Totally agree.

Toss-up kind of game. I gave the edge to Rutgers playing at home.

The Sun Belt and MAC are going to clean up on bowl bids with the Big Ten and ACC being down. Doesn't hurt that tOSU and UNC aren't eligible.
