The Men Who Built America

Just finished watching this mini series on the history and channel and must say it was very good. While I new most of what was on it did learn some things about JP Morgan. Diffidently worth watching if you can. Was basically about how Vanderbilt, Carnegie, Rockefeller, and Morgan created and shaped American history. Anyone else watch it?

I was expecting a big picture of the government.

I wonder what the poliboard thinks of TR and the Trustbusters. The latter half of the 19th century doesn't speak that well for the ability of the free market to self correct, in every case..

What you get on here is that businesses will always treat their employees well because it's good business.

So because we think something now proves that we would feel that way in a completely different time and economic environment then?

So now for the questions.

A: What is your overall feeling on these men?

B: Do you think it was fair that the Gov broke them up and did they have the right to do it.

Yep, everything is the same. Good thing we have minimum wage laws or else companies would chain people in the basement and have them knit white shirts.

Been around for a while but kind of new to the poli board so asking for a ruling. Is noting ever so slight grammar issues or obvious spelling problems like I see every day like totally taboo?

Good series. Amazed a few powerful visionaries had so much influence on the future.

No doubt, as a huge proponent of Darwins theory I cant help but admire what they accomplished and begrudgingly accept the Gov dismantling their corporations.
