| OT Golfers: New Irons roulette (Posted on 11/15/12 at 7:48 am)
I know I see this topic posted often but I was hoping I could get some opinions on some irons I'm looking at. Let me start off by saying I'm a 13 handicap and am looking for something that is "higher end" game improvement or "lower end" players clubs. Basically something that looks good but will have some forgiveness to it. I'm in my early 30s and looking for something I can play for a long time as my game continues to improve.
1. Titleist AP2- I know a bunch of people on here have them and love them, but I'm no OT scratch golfer. I do like them though.
2. MP-53- Seem to be most forgiving in MP line. I hear nothing but great things from mizuno players.
3. MP-H4- New line coming out with more forgiving long irons. Anyone demo these or anything?
4. Ping i20- Cast club, really like the looks and seems to have a "meatier" feel than a lot of player club (thicker top line, etc).
5. TM rocketbladz- I know they are coming soon. Anyone demo these? Probably more GI category but I crush my rbz hybrid and 3 wood so they may be worth looking at.

You honestly can't go wrong with any of those clubs, good selection just make sure they are comfortable in your hands

If you have that club in your hand, and you don't like it, I don't know what you would like.

I second this. A guy we usually play with just got a set and I hit a few. I'm thinking about getting some now.

I saw a video of my clubs next to the Titleist version of mine. Some British dude said that they were basically the exact same club. I'm gonna look for that video. What do you think. Did they just rip off the design?

But I should say that golf clubs usually come down to personal preference. I'd go somewhere and demo all of them.

Not even close? I know we're talking opinions here, but if they're not the best, they're very close. I've hit all the good ones.......ping is definitely at the top

these are the ones I ended up wiht after a fitting... and I'm a 9 HC. its all about ball striking. you can definitely hit these if you are a decent ball striker in the 10-12 HC range.
I went in thinking I was buying Mizunos and I loved the ones I hit but my numbers were better on the AP2's. Get fitted is my best advice. you may let the clubs decide for themselves, plus you end up with the correct lie angles/shafts for your swing

Ping I20's with the cushin inserts in the shafts make them feel great. Well worth the extra $5/club.
