Huge paper due next week and finals coming up quick, but i like some background noise on while i study. I like to put on a movie (usually a goofy comedy)ive seen a billion times so it doesnt distract me, and a good sound track helps. I usually go for Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, Watchmen, Fargo, Big Lebowski, Blues Brothers, What about Bob, just to name a few.
I had Spinal Tap and A Mighty Wind on already today.
Back on point though, sometimes, i just cant get enough 80s. The Cars, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Journey, Whitesnake, David Bowie, all made some kickass music in the 80s

Good choices.
When I was studying for my doctoral exams, I'd take a stack of CDs to the music section of the library and use their CD players to listen as I studied. That was somewhat pre-iPod days.
Yes, I like 80s music. Got the whole Time-Life Collection, haha. The UA campus radio station used to have a show called "Reagan Rock." Good times. XM has a channel called "First Wave" that I like to, late 80s New Wave stuff. Of course, I heard it all the first time around...when it was top 40 radio. I remember the 8 track player in my mother's car, too! Saturday Night Fever 24/7. That was not fun.
One of my best friends was an Ole Miss guy - listened to 80s music, dress in 80s clothes, drove an 80s car.

Tommy Tutone doesn't fit the cheese mantra?

Bobby Brown! I had New Edition's Mr. Telephone Man on 45. I was rockin' the fifth grade. First cassette album - Culture Club Karma Chameleon. It was on sale at the TG&Y. That was a big deal for the fourth grade when I scored that one!
Later, in high school, I had the Bell Biv Devoe Poison Casingle. Too cool for school, fosho. Used birthday money to buy the whole CD, which cost about as much as they do now, meaning that real prices have decline by half.

Don't know how old y'all are, but...before MTV, they used to play these on HBO, between movies.
When MTV came out, we didn't have cable, but my grandparents in central Florida did - I'd stay up all night long watch Twisted Sister concerts and music videos when we went to visit them.
