I'm wondering what size I need to get in a neopreme drake hunting vest for my 10 month old lab. Shes 70 pounds already and still growing. Any suggestions?

I picked up a avery on clearance for 14.88 at academy last week.

Its not the high end model with the handles and shite but it works wel. I have the higher end one and they just dont fit well because they reinforce the handles with a strap sewed in around the chest of the dog. The strap doesnt allow flex and it really bothers my dogs. I tried 3 different sizes at bpro on my dog fwiw. Finally i just cut out the strap.

Look online and they will have the measurements for each size. Measure her neck and chest, it'll tell you which one from there

Depending on where you hunt I'd consider this:

I hunt around cypress knees and creeks, my lab tore her drake neoprene up in 2 hunts. I bought an Avery vest that was neoprene and cordura from academy and has lasted way longer. If you aren't hunting heavy brush the regular drake vest will work fine.

Same here. She hated it when I first bought it but after a few days of working she gets excited when I pull it out. That's what she said

I suggest the Avery one with the handles, the handles are must if you ever need to grab your dog and help them up into the blind or boat

Thats the one I had problems with... The strap in the inside to reenforce the handles has no give and my dogs chest just doesnt fit well with it. It really compressed her chest.
I pick the dog up by the front and back the vest i have now..

To each their own though.

I ordered a small for my Boykin to use, especially since they (boykins) aren't as hearty as a thick lab.

He looks great. Ready to get him in the water with it.

Were y'all's mutts apprehensive about getting in the water at first?

my oldest lab was... then she hung out with some other labs one day that were swimming in a river... havent been able to keep her out of the water since.

One day I was fishing a lake and she was at the house. Heard me talking across the lake and swam a good half mile to get in the boat with me.

Didn't seem to have an issue, but my lab would go out for her dummy with a tire around her neck. She's crazy about these ducks, lol

Work with it on land and build some confidence then go to the water.

Had to get a new one for this season for my 100 lb lab. Went to Academy, got the large, not to expensive and works fine.
