Yeah, I'd actually prefer Fiesta/Rose over Sugar anyway (this particular year)...it's lining up perfectly for LSU....new destination, BCS bowl, and Bama not in BCSCG.

If we can't be in the BCSCG, I couldn't have scripted it any better.

If A&M gets a BCS bid over LSU and Bama goes to the Sugar Bowl and we end up in the Capital One bowl, and you would still say yes to this question, then you are fricking idiot and not really a fan. You are more obsessed with Bama than a fan of LSU.

bullshite. Total fricking bullshite. Alabama winning their 3rd National Title in 4 years is infinitely more detrimental to LSU (for several reasons) than LSU playing in a lesser bowl game.

If it avoids Alabama ending up in Miami, it was 10,000% worth it.

Well they have won 2 out of the last 3 and LSU sure hung with them when they were a 8.5 point underdog and quite frankly should have beaten them. So I guess I am missing the way that this would drastically change if they played for a national championship while we played in another BCS bowl.

Also, no where in there did I say they won another national championship. They could just as easily have lost to Oregon in the national championship while we won the Sugar Bowl. We could have still even finished ahead of them in the rankings. but I guess that would be detrimental to our program.

Yes. Outside of the national championship, the bowl we go to really doesn't mean shite. The Gumps winning another national championship hurts LSU especially in the recruiting area.

Look at some of the biggest contributors Bama has. Starting RB and WR are from Louisiana. Last year they plucked a 5 star safety from about a 5-iron from LSU's campus. It is all about recruiting. Now Les is a great recruiter, but when you can tell a kid "We have won the National Championship in 3 of the last 4 years," it is kind of hard to compete with that.

I know you didn't say they would win the Title, but I wouldn't want to chance it. As it stands, we still have a legitimate shot at the Rose and Fiesta. But if it means giving up a BCS bowl to guarantee Bama not getting a shot at the Title, I'm doing it.

Can you make an argument for how us winning a BCS bowl game while Bama wins the Title is better for the program?

yes

we could still get a fiesta or rose bowl bid.

We will finish 5th in BSC

We are getting in somewhere

LSU is the best team in the SEC right now

no one in the country really wants to play LSU for all the marbles

YES YES YES so worth it! Only thing that will be better is when UGA beats them in Atlanta.
Going to buy tickets, wear my LSU gear, and cheer those Dawgs.

Yes.

I'd rather go to the Fiesta or Rose anyways.

Well again Bama could lose to Oregon in the championship. We could win the rose bowl on a huge stage with a much improved offense.

Keep in mind we played for the championship last year. That's exactly a shitty run. Look at the recruiting class rankings for next year. Not bad right? We are fine on recruiting. They will pluck some from us as we will them.

But I can't honestly say oh yeah I'd rather play in the chicken bowl with Bama in sugar as opposed to us in the rose and then in the NCG. Again, would never root for them to win it bc if this SEC BS but being in a BCS bowl would certainly help our recruiting more than playing in the chick Fil a bowl
