Bama has severe salary-cap issues. They can't compete at this time.

Cool, laughing at people again, Elleshoe. What about his statement is so laughable? Do you actually believe Bama's defense this year is better than years past?

If you spread them out, they are not nearly as effective in pass coverage.

I think Spurrier was trying to say that Bama could beat *his* NFL teams. Not really much argument there, visorboy!

Bama's defense this year is not as good as last year's, in my opinion.

I think the NFL comparison and the way the press ran with it was part of their undoing. You also have to consider, Bama being punch drunk from the LSU game. I dont think Bama is that great a team this year. However, I dont think they would have lost to aTm at home if they hadnt played LSU the week before.

I doubt it really did anything, but I was chuckling all week as that story was beaten to death picturing Saban throwing shite around his office in frustration.

Dude is all about lowering expectations and controlling the story. Spurrier made that VERY very difficult leading into the meat of their schedule.

I guess I missed this. There is a pic of Saban tossing his office because of Spurrier's statement?

And he was right. It was a brilliant troll by Spurrier. Everyone other than the Secretary that wears Football shite on Friday knows NFL teams would destroy NCAA teams. I am not even sure an All-Star NCAA team would be competitive (not win but competitive).

Visors off to Spurrier for psychological warfare win. And I agree that Saban was likely pissed for someone getting into his biodome and fricking up the thermostat.

I said "picturing", as in, that's what I imagine Saban felt like doing after hearing it.

If you don't think Saban was irritated by that comment and media running wild with it in the days leading up to the biggest game of the year, we'll just agree to disagree.
