I got a chance to watch Beckwith in action last Friday and came away impressed. He is every bit of 6'3" and 230 lbs. and played qb and about 75% of the time on defense. He threw a really good ball and really brought the wood on defense. Fwiw I played juco ball and was just really impressed by his athleticism. I talked with some of their fans and they mentioned he is up in the air between BAMA and LSU. They said he was a BAMA lean early in the season.

KB skipped on a bama game yesterday to see LSU/MSU. He's been punkin' bama since the summer to do LSU stuff. I'd be surprised if he didn't end up P&G.

Thanks. I really like to see a defensive prospect play qb. Shows their true athletic abilities. Some of our greatest ball players played qb in hs. (See laron Landry, spencer ware, early Doucet, Corey Webster too I believe)

Everyone in 3A was hoping they wouldn't get on a roll. That team is put together very very well.

They are very talented. Caldwell had a large team but E. feliciana had 3-4 inches on all our guys. It was a close game until Beckwith took over full time at qb in the second half. I've never seen a kid take over a game like that in high school in my entire life.

I'm not sure why you threw this in there.

kids like him who are front seven forces and can play and control games at qb are an anomalie. IMO, he is a must get for LSU because, 1) we need to blunt saban's impact on top La. talent and, 2) we need a real box impact player in this years class. as important a player of RSJ's talent could be for us, I really think that, long tern, getting Beckwith is more important. JMO.

of course....if we get both, I be jammn'!

finish strong...on the field and on signing day.

To put relevance on his opinion, saying he played some type of competitive football? That makes sense to me.

To lend credibility to his evaluation.

I know he's rebuked Bama a lot, but I just have a bad feeling about this one. Hope I'm wrong because he's a talent.

It's pretty clear that somebody who played juco ball should have a better opinion of how athletic others players are when compared to a couch scout

Beckwith has been to several LSU home games this year, he went to both camps as well this past summer. I have a hunch that LSU has been recruiting him harder than Bama.

I'm feeling more confident as time passes that he will decide to stay home where he knows he has a comfort level, we'll see.

Agreed, very athletic kids on D in this class.I will enjoy watching KB along with Melvin Jones in P&G.. Both appear to be MLB'ers with great sideline to sideline range..What say ye? Future is bright!!

He was def more quick than straight fast. The game was def slower in his mind than to the other kids. His defensive stats weren't there because of the read option( which he did great against bc he stayed home), quick passes, and they ran away from him. Btw he NEVER over pursued, which is telling of a disciplined mindset. Good for a hs kid.

We'll definitely have room and contrary to what anyone has ever said on here or any other site, Beckwith has and will always have a spot in the class. He has been priority #1 in the state for a while now. We're not gonna turn away an instate kid that we've been heavily pursuing all year. The only instate kid that could get turned away is Skinner but that is more because of depth at the position and numbers. I happen to believe that if Skinner really wants in the staff will get him in.
