Drove down to Baton Rouge for the first time in 15 years, taking my 13 year old son to the MSU game. We would like to know what not to miss in terms of:
- Band and team walking into stadium
- Any must see tailgaiting locales
- What time to enter stadium for game
I was in grad school during the Hallman/Dinardo era and the changes around campus are breathtaking.
Thanks in advance

Welcome back!
Hang out by Mike the Tiger's cage to see the team walk in.
Get inside stadium by 25mins prior to catch the pregame and calling Baton Rouge.

Seeing what has happened at LSU since 2007 is freaky enough, I couldn't imagine since 1997.

Wow, your drive down from Min-E-sota makes my 7 hr drive to campus seem lame! Real dedication on your part. Hope you & your son have a great time.
As already suggested, get to campus early & walk around campus to take in the best tailgating scene in CFB. Be sure to see Mike's habitat & get up the hill to watch TGBFTL march into the stadium, then get inside to hear the most recognizable 4 notes in any pregame performance.
Safe travels!

All- thanks for the tips! The change to BR since 1997, especially to Northgates area, is staggering.
For the record, there is another poster whose name is similar to mine and seems to be the object of ridicule lately. That username has no space between the words "Minnesota" and "Tiger." It's not me. I have been a member much longer than and post far less frequently than that poster.

Check Dandy Don tomorrow when he puts the times of interest up. That will be what you need to see.
Definitely see the band and team go down the hill.
The west side of the stadium had a face lift in the offseason in addition to all the stadium dorm windows being replaced. The old beast is looking good these days. Also notice "Tiger Stadium" written on the outside east and west sides.
