What's the better .380 for a woman's CCW? TIA.

Neither. Both of those guns suck to shoot. Those are the only two guns I've very shot that actually hurt me when shooting.

Get a revolver.

They're worse than a snubby revolver?

Pocket Pistols for women seem like a good idea but they're not pleasant to shoot. My daughter, BerettaBabe, has a 92FS and a S&W Bodyguard. She can shoot hundreds of rounds at a time through her Beretta avoids the S&W. The Bodyguard is in her car to shoot someone at point blank range

Women think "cute" guns are fun to shoot but they are literally the opposite. The first time they shoot them, they won't like them, and that leads to less training and proficiency.

Bring her to the store and have her hold some. The 380s are surely compact, but if she can find better carry methods, I would suggest a Kahr CM9 or an M&P Shield if you can find one.

Also before getting her a snappy .380, I would get her a Ruger LCR or S&W Airweight. Both are a better option.

Wanna fight about it?

But seriously, no I wasn't. The Sig P238 is different in that the frame is metal so it has a bit more weight. I've never fired one but I never hear anything bad about them. I was more referring to LCP or Bodyguard.

The LCP and Bodyguard are garbage.

I was asking because I'll bet some coin my wife will out perform a lot of people with a pistol

Wouldn't go that far, sir KR. They are good for their intended purpose. My buddy's LCP is 100% in however many rounds he's shot through it.

If we're talking fun-to-shoot or build quality, than yes, the P238 outdoes them both.

A lot of people think handguns are easy to shoot until they try it. "Man this isn't as easy as it is in the movies..."

I bet your wife could take them though.

That's all I'm saying, everything is relative.

I don't think either, PPK or P232, are tough to shoot. A snub nose airweight revolver is much snappier. The PPK is prone to slide bite, but can be resolved with a corrected grip.

Both are picky with self defense ammo and neither have a great reputation for being reliable.

Both are blowback operated which makes it difficult to impossible for many women to load a round into the chamber.

I hate being "that guy" but there are many better options for CCW than those two.

My dad pick up the new compact PPQ 9mm a few weeks ago. Said he loves it. I picked up a used smith and wesson 1911 9mm a few months ago and have yet to shoot it. Kind of need to do that.

I agree. .380s are hard to rack & they shoot poorly.

women should be able to carry a bigger gun easier thna us - they have a damned sack to tote it in!
