Just curious...what's the point of locking a board?

if you're just going to create another board where all of the content that would have been on the original board will be?
Why not just call the Poli Board the Election Talk board for a day? Or the Tiger Rant the Score Board for a few hours?

So they can delete all the crazy shite off of the temp boards so it doesn't have to be on the permanent one.
