With Bama in an obvious safe defensive formation with 3 players off the line, shouldn't alleman either audible to kick rather than running the fake, or call TO cause fake has no chance of working? This was brought to my attention by a friend who is a former college kicker.
Thoughts?

It was a huge F-up. That's really all you can say about it now

Yeah, because this is a message board where people discuss things. God forbid anyone have a discussion about something you don't want to talk about.

He should have and I'm sure Miles gave him that option.

But no one remembers a field goal, they'll remember a successful fake though. I guess he wanted to be a hero.

rather than the kicker making that call, Les Miles should have noticed the formation and been running on the field to call a timeout. same thing with rushing Ware out there for the QB sneak. They waited until their were about 10 seconds on the play clock and he ended up bobbling the ball and didn't have a chance. Les Miles should have called a timeout there too.

Coaches should have not some kicker who sees 2-3 snaps a game.

I said it live. I didn't know LSU was attempting a fake, but even I noticed bama drop into safe zone and said well I hope they aren't faking.

LSU should have been better prepared to call a timeout if they see this. It was very obvious.

I believe in the a&m game we lined up for a fg and winded up wasting a timeout during it.. Probably was the same call.

Coaches should've called a timeout. It was obvious Bama was playing safe

Ever heard of the search function? There are several threads on this topic.

I love it. You think there are too many threads about this but you still posted twice in this one. You come across like an old man yelling, "Keep off of my lawn!".

I don't care if they weren't playing "safe"

That was a 4th and TWELVE play. Bama has athletes all over that field. He was not getting 12 yards on that fake no matter what Bama was doing.

It was a gutsy Lesticles call. It probably would have worked had not Bama lucked out.

Can't blame Coach Miles for the players not executing on the play.

+ 1

what a shame...a lot of what seemed great preparation for the game pissed away with quick and ill advised decisions.

Players or coaches should have checked out. Should have heard from press box to call timeout.
