I would say it was a successful recruiting weekend.

With a loss like that, you often look for the silver lining. I don't think we have to look far after this game. Besides the promising team that the Tigers displayed Saturday night, they also flexed their muscle on the recruiting trail again with two big commitments.

It shows me a pattern too. I mean, when is the last time LSU opened their classes with 2 out-of-state prospects? I am just as pumped about the Kevin Toliver commitment as I am the Lacouture kid.

Kevin Toliver II (NOLA)

Based off reading through all of the quotes from the reruits on ESPN Recruiting Nation, I like our chances with a bunch of these recruits. The following guys had really good things to say about the atmosphere:

1. Beckwith
2. T. Williams
3. Herron
4. Neal
5. Fournette
6. T. Brown
7. Dupre

Tim Williams also stated that he will be at the next 2 home games against the Mississippi schools...

(I didn't link bc it's premium)

Tim Williams is still a big wild card. I wouldn't be shocked if he went out of state.

to me, he's the #1 guy. He and lsu should have the perfect marriage if he gives it a chance.

He is the exact d.e. type that excels in chavis type defense. he's a speed rusher and one of very few we've signed or have committed. he really could be a sack machine at lsu and receive a lot of hype from playing and performing at a high level in big games like this past saturday.

lsu provides him a great opportunity to graduate, his family see him play and provide support during difficult times. it provides him an avenue to receive coaching and publicity to market his skills to the n.f.l., and it provides job opportunities outside of football.

lsu need a talent like him and he needs a school like lsu. it's a win/win for both. hopefully, he will see it that way.

Does anyone else find it a bit odd Miami is our main competition? And by that, I mean why isn't he vying to play anywhere else out of state? Playing in front of 10k, the ACC, the school is on probation, etc...in other words, are there many other schools out there recruiting him that hard? I have some family at Uhigh that isn't exactly blown away by his performances and actual height. Now before I get crucified on here for mentioning that, I have to admit that it makes a little sense when we're fighting the U for his signature.

I find it more odd he's struggling academically.

I saw Fournette by my tailgate before the game. He was a nice guy - came over and shook my hand. I asked him if we'd see him in the P&G in two years. He just said "we'll see" and gave a wink.

It is sounding like LSU may not be the best fit for him.

29 is the magic number since we signed 21 last year.

i think we can have 4 early enrolees and those will go on the '12 class. I'm not completely sure though.
