Here is what people are trying to say.....only reason people are satisfied is because of the media. Because no one gave us a shot and we were an 8 1/2 underdog, fans are "satisfied"! I ask these fans, "if LSU was favored, would u still be satisfied?" Bottom Line is LSU had a better team than Alabama and in any game when you have the better team, you should win!!

So if you have a better team than the "Almighty Alabama", you should be playing for another national championship, correct? That's the way a lot of us think. The rest of us will be "satisfied" with a 11-2 season. Guess what another 82% winning percentage!!!! So is an 11-2 a successful season ( fits the 82% rule), when you should be playing for a national championship? Some of you do; I don't. Time and time again Miles bad coaching decisions cost LSU opportunities to play in bigger, more lucrative bowl games. When is enough, enough?

It's great preparation to have trick plays. I thought we would need some going into the game. However, after watching the first quarter, I realized we were just as good as Alabama, if not better. Gadget plays are used to gain or switch momentum; OR if you feel your overmatched. None of the above was true vs Alabama. (Where were they vs Fla)..if he coached last nights ball game, like he coached every other game, it's 7/6 at half. Onside kick wasn't necessary ( even though it didn't hurt LSU)... In 2nd half, Defense went 3 and out, 3 and out, and you are kicking to student section.... Like the gamble to go for it on 4th in 1... Hated the play call. How many 3rd and 3's did LSU get by gashing Alabama right up the gut... The last drive should not have mattered, if Miles realizes he has the better team and played like the favorite instead underdog, LSU leads 21-7 in the final 2 minutes....ask yourself this, When Miles has the better team, when does he use gadget plays?" I got caught up in Ala hype and thought he would need those type plays... He didn't. Miles biggest failure last night was not seeing that his LSU Tigers were the better team. Again, if Miles knew/thought he was the better team, these plays would have never been called... See it already... Miles lovers dnr/tl... Don't post.... To you, I say open your eyes

I don't really care who is favored. Only numbers that matter are on the scoreboard when it hits zeros

The media presented Bama as a super team, I always thought they didn't play anyone and had easy schedule. I bet LSU would go undefeated with 2013 Bama schedule next year.

LSU played their arses off and Bama didn't. The LSU team that played Florida didn't play Bama...it was us at our best. So could we have beaten Bama, yeah and we probably should have. However, they turned it on when they needed to and finished...that's it...we could have pressed for the last minute and perhaps gotten beaten over the top...I'm sorry but I don't think we're settling for 11-2 minus 8 starters and all the distractions. A lesser team would look like Arkansas or Aurburn....no offense to Arkansas or Auburn

Exactly. Get ready for another year where all they play is us but we get all the pressure and no respect. If history shows than we'll also end up losing if the game means anything. Our fans will all be proud we gave them a good shot on our way to the next Cotton Bowl. We'll get them in 2014 ... or will we?

Point is that the players did everything they could have done to win. On the field, every category was a check and they lost. Under Miles, we are the better team and lose a lot of times; more so than the other way around. You are suppose to win 82% of your games when you have talent better than 95% of the teams you play

LSU utilizes TE's & RB's in passing game.
# YDS.
Hill- 3 - 12
Cope- 2 - 47
Jacob-2 - 15
Ware-1 - 38

Backs and TE's accounted for 122yds of the 296yds passing for 41% of passing game.Reason for success against Alabama.Poor coaching decisions by coaching staff and some undisciplined play by some of the same players cost LSU the victory

I agree with this for the most part, BUT.... what are our options? There isn't a better coach out there waiting for the job.

As for the trick plays etc. I have no problem with the on-side kick, I think it was a great time to call it, and would have blown the game open had it worked. However, it wasn't executed correctly. Showed big balls, and I liked that. BUT the fake field goal, on 4th and 12. really???? that was stupid!!!!! the play call on the other 4th down was pretty stupid too. I think the "mad hatter", "Mad hatted" himself right out of a win, and a Nat Championship.

For the record, I am not satisfied....

You can say that about every coach consistantly in the top-10. Saban, Stoops, Meyer--all of them. It's not like they are beating Rockne's 89% record.

I am extremely disappointed we lost the game. However, if you are going to grill Miles for the breakdown at the end (which is fair), you have to give him credit for the gameplan the rest of the game and getting the team to play with that intensity.

You live with the Hat, you die with the Hat. I didn't see anyone on the AMAB boards wanting to fire the Nicktator after last years game in Tuscaloosa.

Like Mike S. said, this may turn out to be the Cholly Mac Bear Bryant series of the 21st century. Les is 3-4 against Nick, so it is pretty even right now. Bama will be stacked again next year, so it is a toss up on if we can win that one.

+1 However, I don't think the National Sports Media would allow a 1 loss SEC team to play in the NC game; except, if it were Alabama.

I am satisfied with how we played but not with losing. It was a great game but you can't win them all. The florida loss bothers me more.

People like you are why the fan base is full of retards. You are never happy. You are probably one that was saying LSU would lose by 3 TDs. I'm sure you have been bitching about how horrible the offense was all season. Were you one of the ones who said we wouldn't even score against Bama's vaunted defense? If the answer to any of those is "yes" then GFY.

Yeah some of the trick plays made it look like Miles maybe thought Bama was the better team, but most of the people on this board have been bitching all season long about the game plan every week and the lack of adventurous play calling and even bitching about the game plan on 1/9 and how they thought this week would be the same.

Well it wasn't, Miles pulled out anything and everything in the game. Did you ever think the fake FG on 4th and 12 had anything to do with the fact that Alleman has sucked pretty bad this year and has been missing all kinds of kicks? That call should never have been made anyway because if it wasn't for JC Copeland's stupid arse personal foul penalty we have the ball on the 12. Maybe we score a TD, but even if we didn't Miles isnt going to try a fake FG from that position on the field.

When the offense stuggles you want to call out Miles and say how horrible he is and how he needs to go and so the offense comes out with a game plan and essentially executes it to perfection to the tune of 430 yards against a defense that was averaging 203 yards a game and you still bash the guy.

LSU played it's best game of the season, but Bama didn't play terrible. Their O-line abused us. We never hit a RB in the backfield all day, and the never got pressure on the QB.

They average 6.6 yds per rush. If they don't try to throw the ball all second half, that game could have been completely different. LSU played a great game, but let's not act like we played lights out. We got a couple lucky breaks as well.

We played good enough to win, we just didn't do enough defensively to pull it out.

Maybe, maybe not....I guess we will never know! but with the right teams dropping a game, it definitely could have happened.

PurpleandGold86, why don't you read my previous instead of assuming that way you won't seem like such an assclown when you post. "GFY"....really? If u take this stuff personal, you need to get a life bro.

I understand know why you feel the way you do calling LSU executing the game plan to "perfection"... Thats why we will agree to disagree. While the offense played well, "perfection" is far from the truth. You need to Look up "perfection" before using big words like that....Offense should have been doing this all year....why not?4th and 2, QB sneak is not the players fault, is it?

Mark my word, you will see more of the old Les Miles during the Alabama game. Seriously? What Changed? He is back to being the underdog...Perfect rallying cry for a coach. "No one is giving us a chance to win, when you play tonight you have absolutely nothing to lose, go have fun, play loose and lets show the nation what the LSU Tigers are made of"

PurpleandGold....here was my post in Oct.....hit the nail on the head...
