Now, he needs to keep it up. The coaches need to cut him loose for the rest of his career at LSU and trust him to make every throw. His days of game manager are over. He should be the leader of the offense in the Jamarcus Russell mode. Period.

Now all of this will be for naught, if we don't win a National Championship next year. I don't care who we lose to graduation or to the draft. 6 years is too long for a program with LSU's talent to not win a NC. If we don't win it all next year, it is highly unlikely we win another NC under Miles. I am tired of moral victories. It is time to bring in some hardware and Mett should be the guy to do it.

Agree. Time to let the offense loose. No more rrpk.

Years 2008-2012 and the number of blow opportunities. So close yet so far.

Anyway, I don't think even Miles is hard headed enough to put Mett back in his shell and start babying him again. If only we had let Mett play like he did last night, no way we would have lost to Florida and no way the games against TAMU and USC are that close. If Mett can do what he did last night against Bama, he can do it against anybody.

IMO, the days of an LSU QB regularly throwing for less than 100 yards should be rightfully over. With a semblance of a passing game to go with our running game and defense, we'll be hard to stop.

Lil Rivers may make you forget about previous QB's when he gets his chance. Plenty of good days to come.

they let him throw a good bit in those games, esp. vs. TAMU. his accuracy was off though (again, esp. vs. TAMU).

It's pretty damn hard to win, let alone qualify for a chance to play for a national championship (especially with the lack of playoff system we have currently).

The number of things that have to go right are seemingly endless.

Look at 2007, we lost our last regular season game, and everything somehow fell into place the next weekend, giving us the nod.

But, back to my initial point, it's not impossible for us to play for another title, especially with the amount of talent we have continuing to come in to campus each year. We'll certainly be in contention every year.
