Tell us about your first deer kill.

I'll start.
December 23, 1994.
I'm the happiest kid on earth cause I'm off on Christmas vacation, and dad takes his vacation to coincide with it.
That means hunting just about every day.
I'm sitting in a ladder box stand over looking a powerline right of way with the very same 16 gauge Wingmaster that my brother used to kill his first deer with years earlier. Its about 7:00 AM, and I'm eating my strawberry poptart (breakfast of buck killing ledgends) while other standers are still making their way to their stands. The drivers had not yet turned any dogs loose, when I hear something behind me inside the tree line.
I turn and see a "cow horn" spike flanking the right of way. I pick up the gun, bang it on the side of the stand, click the saftey off, and as the front bead passes the shoulder, yank the trigger. Looking back at this now, surprising most of the load of # 1's finds the vitals, and the buck drops in his tracks, not even flinching.
I stood there shacking like never before, and wait forever to climb down and go look at him.
Mine was the only deer killed that day, and all the older members made me feel proud of myself.
They smeared the traditional blood on my face, and we brought the deer head into the nearby bar room,
where everyone else enjoyed a cold one.
Life was great.

Got a 20ga youth model for my birthday in Oct. Was the first doe day and dad set me on an uprooted tree a few yrads away. Heard something running through the woods and thought it was a squirrell. Dad jumps up yelling to shoot it. Him yelling caused the doe to stop broad side about 20 yards in front of me and one 00 buck shell dropped her in her tracks. No doubt my dad was more excited than me

Don't remember too much of it, really. Ground checked a deer with Winchester 12 sometime around 1965.

Cold evening. Saw about 15 deer ( ) all too far. Big ol doe with a yearling and a couple other does come out close.
I shot the yearling square in the guts
I was 7 at the time and the happiest SOB on the face of the earth.

Dec 1991- My dad and I were hunting in Norwood,La.It was the last doe day of the season. My dad found a spot on the creek where they were crossing and put me a ladder stand there the week before.About 730 am I heard a stick break and looked to see a MONSTER doe easing towards me.I threw my gun up and fired. She ran and dropped down in a ravine. We liked to never got her out of there. That little Honda 125M was working overtime hauling us and a deer out.Hunting was so simple back then.good times

I was 11 or 12. button buck with my .243. I thought it was a doe when I shot, but I wasn't too disappointed because it was my first and it was dead.

16 or 17.

Old old funny looking horned 10 point. Horns were almost brittle.
Home made ladder stand in oak tree.
Shot him and thought he was dead there. Got down to walk over to him, it was dark by this time. He was behind some brush. Didn't have my light on and when I got about 5 yds away I heard some noise where he was at. Turn light on and he is standing there looking at me. I threw up and shot him again. Very weird deal, later when we looked in his mouth he had almost no teeth.

9 years old in Pickens County, Alabama. We were running dogs and it was the first time my Dad put me on stand by myself. If you can call it that because he was right around a curve in a field road. I can still hear those dogs running today... I saw my Dad ease around the curve towards me and tell me to get ready. As the dogs got closer I shouldered that Ol' 870 Wingmaster... When that doe's nose cleared the thicket I let her have it. I'll never forget she flipped end over end when I shot because she was running wide open. I still remember standing there in awe when she raised her head up and bleated. Liked to have scared the shite out of me. So I let her have it again. Ya know funny thing is even at 34 years old I still remember everything about that hunt, but most of all I remember that huge smile on my Dad's face. Some things just stick with you forever. Next thing I remember was walking over to her and him reaching down and rubbing his hand in blood and smearing my face. I think I wore that bloody face all day and proudly at that
