I originally hated Jackie Brown. Now it *MAY* be my favorite Tarantino movie. Greater appreciation for it now.

Lost in Translation. Absolutely hated it the first time I saw it. Then I got in Bill Murray's situation and was able to completely identify with it. I was going through a period of loneliness at the time, and that film greatly helped me cope with my new situation of being a stranger in a strange land.

Natural Born Killers.
After seeing it the first time (age 14), I thought it was complete garbage. Now, it gets better with each viewing.

I had some preconceived notions when I saw Watchmen in theaters and I came away pretty disappointed, but upon subsequent viewings of the directors cut I have come to love it.

I wasn't too thrilled with Talladega Nights the first time I saw it. Now I like to think of Jesus as a mischievous badger.

Monty Python movies suck the first time but after starting to talk about them with all your friends, you realize you should give it another shot and see what you missed.
Then you realize that Monty Python movies are some of the greatest comedies ever.

Comedies really are the genre for this.

See! It's a movie that has to be identified with...Been saying that to people who hated it for years. If you've traveled, spent time overseas or at the very least had lonely fish out of water experiences...where you are a stranger in a strange place...the movie hits home and is perfect.
If you've never left your hometown, yeah...I can see why you find the movie boring.
To answer: Last of the Mohicans
(I don't know why I hated it - actually I do - every chick loved it and would not stop talking about it...so I judged it as a overly-dramatic sappy and silly chick flick - but it's quality.

I've always liked Python but my taste for their comedy has evolved. When I first saw Holy Grail I was in High School and I hated the scene with the peasants arguing about government. Now it's my favorite scene in the movie. "Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government...". Greatness.
The same goes for many of their TV skits. As a teenager they were boring. Now they are brilliant.
