Never really ate there, but had friends that lived there and enjoyed $1.50 high life's from time to time.

Hell yeah! I started going there in the early 90's right after I turned 18. My buddy's dad would let us open up a tab and eat and drink.
Loved the gumbo and fried seafood platter. Damn strong drinks too.
I know I watched at least two superbowls there around that time too.

it was great. same people sat at the same tables every week. all the br bookies met on tuesday to settle up. married guys brought their girlfriends to lunch. no one said a word. it was more like being in a club. there is nothing like that in br now.

Saw John Brady in the back room there a few times when I lived in the complex.

I lived there in 97 and really enjoyed their chef salads.

I miss that place big-time. I went there for lunch almost every day and knew most of the employees and several customers.
Ouncey is about to reopen Uncle O's in the old Brubacher's building on Sherwood. I'll have to get over there.

Speaking of married guys bringing their girlfriends.
Plenty of local politicians too.

Can somebody fill me in on this place? I'm not originally from the area so I have no idea what this is.

There was that side room that we used to play cards in, maybe this is the one in which he speaks.
But I find it a little thin that the same guys owned both the Fairway and the Caterie and they both met the same fate.

Fairway View apartments is a large complex off College Dr. In the back they had a restaurant/lounge. I went back in the early to mid 90s and the place was loaded with local politicians. Food was really good. I think it burned down?
