On paper, I don't think there's any question that team was better than this version of the gumps. May I ask why everyone is giving us no chance to win after witnessing us win that game?
Don't say because of our offense because we were horrific that year

I think a lot of people expected LSU to win that game.

Sorry....but it's because our offense sucks.

The 2010 team may have had more stars...but this team is better...top to bottom no weaknesses. It's scary. I find myself feeling like I did when Spurrier used to come in with the Florida teams. My heart and head are saying two different things.

Not really. And we were a TD underdog.

I will never forget the disrespect LSU received heading into that game.. and I hope this year is the exact same thing.

No one gave LSU a prayer in that 2010 game..

What I find weird is I have actually seen a ton of college football fans predicting LSU beats Bama.. especially out west.. but I truly believe they are more "hoping" for Bama to lose to benefit their teams.. but they are at least giving us some cred because of our home play and consistency.

Because rather than seeing LSU/Bama as a rivalry where either team will win at various times, many LSU fans for some reason view it as a one time competition where its possible for one side to win forever. And they think that happened in January, and now LSU has lost forever.

Never mind that Bama hasn't played a top-25 caliber team on the road since 2010 and lost in their last 2 tries, including to LSU with a weaker team than this year. Or that on the trip before, a Bama team that finished the regular season 12-0 got pushed to overtime the by Miles' worst LSU team.

Their defense was certainly not as good as this ones. their staff has more confidence in McCarron. Granted they had more skilled players on the 2010 team but with an inferior defense and offense that wasn't as balance.

You could also throw in that game to further validate my point. We have been the underdog the last 2 times Bama has come to TS, with us winning one and having a great chance to win the other. No one can say Bama is better this year because they haven't played an elite team yet

BAMA got LSU and USCe best shot in 2010, then lost in heartbreaking fashion to Scam Newton and the eventual national champs at home. People forget how good that team was. They just had an impossible schedule and had a bullseye on their backs as defending NCs.

Mccarron didnt play that year. Mcekroy skready won thd bcs championship and was a sr. You cant tell me they had no confidence in mcelroy. They also had heisman winner rb and trent richardson who was prob even better. Oh and there was that guy named julio jones. But yeah the 2010 team wasnt any good.

Ever heard the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts?

2010 was the most talented team to ever come through tuscaloosa, but they weren't mentally tough. Couple that with a young defense and it's a recipe for L's on the road.

Whereas the evidence that the 2012 team (also with a young defense) can play well against a decent team on the road is what, exactly?

I was replying to the guy that said they have more confidence in Mccarron. He didnt play in 2010. So what dies that have to do with anything? Now unless he meant they have more confidence in mccarron than mcelroy he may have an argument, but a very weak one considering mcelroy was a sr who already took bama to 14-0. And yes i believe bama was more talented on offense in 2010 .

The way it was worded makes it seem like the poster thought mccarron was the starter in 2010.

never said they weren't any good. Their defense had holes all over their secondary. South Carolina was successful, Arky played them tight and auburn beat them as well as us.. Mark Barron was their best db. Offensively I don't feel they have as much balance as this year's team.
