In what universe?

I VIVIDLY remember no one gave LSU much of a chance in that game. That was shortly after that Tennessee game debacle. Nobody thought we would win that game. That's why the emotions following it were so visceral.

No ONE. AND I MEAN NO ONE GAVE US A CHANCE.

Really? An espn fan poll as proof? lol. Both had the same record. LSU's only loss was to a great AU team only by a touchdown, and our only loss was a beatdown to South Carolina. It was in Tiger Stadium. I remember plenty of Alabama fans worried about that game for us.

Completely different scenario.

They have had 4 1st round draft picks on offense that were on the 10 team. Thats pretty damn good.

no doubt. They didn't finish games that year imo. got the big head. very typical for saban teams post championship They were very talented. Their D was young..

And even in his fan poll 30% picked LSU, guess that qualifies as nobody.

And to the OP, the 2010 may have had plenty of talent, but they would be run off the field by the 2012 version of Alabama.

wish we had a Rueben Randle this year like we did in 2010. Huge factor in winning that game imo..

Whereas the evidence that the 2012 team (also with a young defense) can play well against a decent team on the road is what, exactly?

South carolina was good but not great that year and took it to alabama. This team has destroyed everyone away from home. Destroyed them. Most teams that are mentally weak will show some signs of it on the road. This defense has much more experience than that one, not sure where you are getting this defense is young from?

I agree ab the D. Just not the offense. Our O still sucks, but as a whole i feel our D is better than in 10. Even with the young guys all over the field. But i expect that in year 4 of chavis compared to year 2.

I also seem to rem, several of those same players that make that team so talented were hurt, that year and that very game.
How many current LSU players played in that game.

On paper, I don't think there's any question that team was better than this version of the gumps. May I ask why everyone is giving us no chance to win after witnessing us win that game? Don't say because of our offense because we were horrific that year

The problem is that we're no where near as good as last year. Bama's defense may not be quite as good, but they're still very good, and our offense just doesn't look to be able to put many points on the board.

Wow you still want to debate this? Why do you think I still even have the fan poll to this day? It was a huge deal bro. You clearly were fricking wrong, admit it idiot.

Because you clearly don't remember shite.

Notice how all LSU fans remember this game with such significance. Again, I will never forget the amount of disrespect LSU got going into that game. Everyone had Bama.

That was actually a small sample of it.. I wish I had the final result saved.

Their defense was certainly not as good as this ones. their staff has more confidence in McCarron. Granted they had more skilled players on the 2010 team but with an inferior defense and offense that wasn't as balance.

Pretty much this.

The 2012 team is better.

LSU had looked iffy all season long, and Alabama was the highest-ranked one-loss team. Alabama was getting talk because they had a better chance of playing in the title game at that point. They hadn't played Auburn yet. We had. I think that had a lot to do with it.

2008 was the same. The worst team since 99 managed to take the game to OT. Should not have been a game past half time. We were plain bad that year. Defense, offense, spc teams.

People underestimate was LSU can do at home. Let them.

The perception of LSU coming off the Tenn loss was just brutal. Bama also beat Tenn 41-10ish?

Literally everyone was saying LSU sucked, Miles is trash, blah blah.. Kind of like these dipshits at the 1 minute mark [quote]LINK ]

Bama still had a shot at a National Title even tho they had lost at South Carolina earlier in the season. People were giving them the benefit of the doubt.. especially coming off a NC. Everyone (as always) loved Nick Saban coming off a bye..

The only reason a Bama fan could claim being nervous about the game was because their NC hopes were on the line heading into this game.. but everyone outside of LA and Bama were all up Bama's jock.
