Shot two shots with no problem no it misfires. It hits the primer but doesn't hit it hard enough im guessing. Anyone else had this problem? What would you do?

Sorry but that is your first problem. Take it to a gunsmith to see what they say.

May have a headspacing issue. It's just a prob that the 35 has had for years because of the neck on the brass. Not sure if this what is causing yours to do this but something to check.

Do you have the little extra piece on the hammer that makes it easier to pull back? I guess it's called a hammer extension or something like that. On Handi Rifles that piece is supposed to make the piece not hit as hard sometimes.

The gunsmith's charges may exceed the value of a Rossi. Literally

Rossi makes a serviceable revolver IMO. But anything else is shite.

If you have a hammer extension on it, take that off. If it continues, eat your loss and buy something else.

Years ago my old man bought a Rossi single shot .243 for y brother when he was starting out. It shot 6" groups at 100 yards on a good day. Went back to the factory 4 times and still could never do better than that.

I switched to Hornady ammunition and have no problem now. Talked to a gunsmith and he said Remington is trying to make their 35 whelen bullet identical to the 3006 bullet. In doing so the diameter near the front of the bullet is a little smaller making the bullet fall into the gun a little more which doesnt allow the firing pin to reach it properly.

Whatever works, but your gunsmith is full of crap as that most of the time in factory ammunition, the ogive of the bullet does not contact the lands in the rifling. Oh, it is likely that your Hornady ammunition and the Remington ammunition use the same bullet as that for many years, Hornady made the Corelokt for Remington.
