I am investing what my company will match on my 401(k). I have that part taken care of for the meantime.

I have been studying what you guys have posted and the blogs that were provided in this thread. So far all of the advice has been amazing. Especially for someone who has little to no knowledge for finances, it has been an eye opener so far since I browsed over to the money board.

From what I have gathered, it is of my interest to set up a Roth IRA, and get the necessary funds set aside to start making contributions. I haven't started one and I know it hurts to wait, but I would rather have a full understanding on everything before making a rushed decision. I will definitely check out Vanguard

Vanguard is super simple to setup and requires little to no research. If you have $1000, you can start. Pick a target retirement fund (2055 or 2060 or whenever) and you are good to go.

It will put your money on cruise control so to speak. You can add other funds as you go and more money ($1000 is the min to start with).
