Overall not to bad

Considering my little one pick just about all 'the pretty little flowers' off of it for mom.

But I need to figure out what's up with the few that look like this?

Is that coons, birds, or maybe squirrels?

Our satsuma tree has produced beautifully the last few years. Numbers look way down this year and I'm not sure why. I will be sad not to have enough to eat all we want plus share with friends.

Wish I could help you with your problem ones. The others look fab.

The crop is busying itself with turning colors from green to full blown orange.

My tangelo is loaded. I've heard the term bird pecked used, so I always assumed that's what it was.

This is an Hamlin Orange tree and its only 5 years old.
My uncle who runs about a half dozen nurseries up in Monroe says they're the sweetest oranges available...

If they fully bloom, then I'll be giving many if them away... If you need some just holla at me

he raises them for a living, the blood oranges crops are usually sold out 1-2 years in advance. Resturants and others call in from all over the country ....

Mostly locally owned orchards down that way. The creole tomatoes are from the same area, and they compete to see who is able to harvest the crop with a vengeance.

Paul, my oranges look just like yours in all the pics. I've had the problem in your last pic for 2 years. Can't figure out what it is. It looks like pics that show windburn, which I don't think is possible and one other thing that I've now forgotten. If you find out what that is and what to do, please post. The issue didn't affect the fruit at all last year, but it was on my oranges, lemons and satsumas. It's there again, but not as bad, I don't believe.

My satsumas are ripe, but they aren't nearly as sweet this year. Lemons, oranges and limes not ready for picking. Still all very green. My trees were full of flowers. Not nearly as full of fruit, but this is my best year as far as fruit and mine are probably 8 or so years old, I think. Well, some of them. Some are only a few years.

Mine are fantastic. They face south, bear quality fruit the entire year, and never need sugar when eating or juicing. God has been good to my two orange trees.

I've never had to put sugar on any of mine. I don't know why my satsumas aren't as sweet as they usually are. I've only eaten a few of them, though. Gonna check some others.

I've noticed that my satsumas are sweeter after a cold snap. Don't know why, but I enjoy it!

You mean one after they're ripe and still on the tree or in the early Spring?

ETA: Do y'all pick them as soon as they are ripe or pick as needed? How long can they stay on the trees? This is the first year I've had more than I need at once.

I do mean after they're ripe and still on the tree. We now pick as needed. One year there was a freeze and we hadn't picked them all and thought they would be ruined, but instead, they were sweeter. I'm pretty sure it wasn't a hard freeze.

ETA: We've kept some on the tree as late as February.
