I'm thinking about getting my grandpa's old shotgun fixed for my dad as a Christmas present.

What kind of gun and what are you looking to have done?

There is a guy in Slidell by Northshore high school who does great work. Unfortunately, his name escapes me at the moment.

I'm going get the gun tomorrow and I will know details. I haven't seen the gun in about 12 years so I don't remember much about.

So just a update for you folks that helped me out thus far.
It's a Winchester Model 50 12 gauge. It is an inertia semi-auto shotgun that's 56 years old and dirty as hell. They aren't anything special as far as resale or value but apparently it was only made for a few years because gas semi-auto became more popular.
The stock is broken and rotates about 10 degrees clockwise and counter clockwise on the receiver. I think it has something to do with the inertia auto loading system. I think this puts it out of my league and will be looking into the gunsmith y'all have recommended.

Thanks man. I ended up taking it all apart and i think to recoil spring broke and someone kept shooting it which cracked the stock.
