Is it me or did it look like Landry stopped running on the fade route and just went for the ball? Don't get me wrong the throw needed a little more air under it but it looked like if he would have continued his route he would have caught it?

He gave up on the play, but Mett gets the blame

Everything is Mett's fault. You didn't know you're taught to stop running and backpedal instead of continuing your route?

Thought the same thing after watching the replay as well! Mett def missed some throws for the game....but that pass looked like it was supposed to be an "over the shoulder" throw. But landry may have misplayed it.

Yep. Mett and the receivers are starting to get the kinks out and besides ODBJr not catching pass on sidelines early in the game the receivers played well and caught everything thrown their way. Would be nice to see them play well and have breakout game against the Aggies. That will give Ala. something to think about for sure.... Geaux Tigers!

he cut the route... started backpedaling/looking for the ball couple steps too soon.... pass was right where it was supposed to be... he was supposed to hit him front corner of the endzone.... not the 2 yrd line where landry subsequently falls to the ground... landry miss played it(in-short)

I concur. I don't claim to be an "expert" by any means, but I stood up @ the game and had to contain myself from dog-cussing Landry for screwing up that route. It was obvious that he broke it off early. Made up for it later w/ a few nice catches later in traffic.

When I got back to the tailgate I said the same thing, but everyone was blaming Mett so I left it alone. I do believe Landry could have played that a lot better.

The one that was just on ESPNU that Beckham went up and had both hands on and dropped? Great athletic play to get up there. Once you're there and have both hands on it, gotta make the catch.
