Spurrier's Sunday press briefing

First, listening to today's local sports talk radio, almost all of the SC fans that called in gave props to LSU and were proud of their team. I know the expectations aren't on par with LSU's because of the terrible history, but it was refreshing to hear losing fans enjoying quality football and keeping it in perspective...
OBC started his Sunday press meeting by saying that after rewatching the game, it was obvious that LSU dominated EVERY aspect of the game. He went on to say that they were lucky to be leading in the 4th and having a chance to win, crediting it only to the fact that LSU had to often settle for field goals, and that they would have "stole" the victory had they came through.
He re-iterated that it's obvious why we were preseason #1. He was disappointed that some of his players got "smashed' all game and played like they were scared of LSU. He credited the LSU coaches for doing a better job preparing our players for the game.
Very honest and respectful of LSU.
tl;dr

And yet that tool Finebaum was raving about what a great team S. Carolina is. He even went so far as to say the GameChickens are one of the top 2 or 3 teams in the country! What an asshat!
Sorry, but one of the best 2 or 3 teams in the country should not get dominated by a team that starts 2 freshmen on the right side of the O-line and only scored one TD in 5 trips to the red zone.

Yeah it wasn't just Finebaum. It was the large majority of the country that thought we were an elite team. We were ranked #3 afterall...
You only scored one TD in 5 trips to the red zone because our red zone D is one of the best in the country.
Most Carolina fans had us losing this one as soon as we saw y'all were on the schedule. We still have our goals in front of us and LSU obviously showed us some things we need to work on. Don't act like we aren't a top team though. We may meet y'all again in Atlanta. Good luck on the rest of the season.

if all that is true, that speaks volumes about the strength of our program. Steve Spurrier would know, he's the guy that use to kick the shite out of us on the reg. i hope the negatards read this and let it sink in. Our coach is maybe the best in the biz.

Well, duh, that's cause Bama still has SC on the schedule and he wants to pump SC up in the rankings so Bama looks good beating them.

He and Tim Brando were discussing the aftermath of the game, when I caught it today. Finebaum actually also admitted that he could see LSU still giving Alabama a run.
Brando said that the SEC will all beat themselves up, and that he didn't see anyone coming out of the SEC undefeated. Wasn't as sure about LSU beating Alabama though.

Paul and another local sportscaster, Rick Karle, dual being Saban's boy. Listening to Finebaum or Karle is like listening to Saban's agent Sexton.

UF is going to stomp ya'll this weekend and crush any notion of elite program that is still lingering in your mind.

Not true. Alabama is not playing South Carolina, Florida, or Georgia in their regular season schedule. The only way they play any of these teams is in the SEC Championship game. Finebaum talks the Bama line when they don't have to back it up on the field until they come to Tiger Stadium.

I think you're only basing this on comparisons to our performances against both. I think it's gonna be close. Real close.
