I don't like Risher's game analyses. I find he is kinda all over the map, and contradicts himself at times. For example, sat night he came down hard on Mettenberger saying that he wasn't progressing fast enough and before long Les may have to think about trying a new quarterback. Then 15 mins later, he went on and on about how Zach has had no help this year from the oline and the WRs. On top of that I feel like he is yelling at me through the radio. Not exactly what I want at 1am, when nursing a headache from drinking all day and yelling all night.

I really like Derek Ponamsky. Him and Hanagriff really work well together, and reminds me of the days of Gordy Rush. I have no idea if he would even want the job, but I think they would be great.

Anybody else agree?

I never did like Alan Risher's comments. Ponamksy at least has some legit sources and can provide greater value.

alan risher was a good QB at LSU .. but, for some reason, his analysis doesn't land at all to me ... i would like to hear someone next to hanny that actually played at LSU .. gordy was really good in that seat because he did .. ponamsky is an adam schefter wanna-be .. just go find an articulate, thought provoking former player ..

Both these statements could be true. They can be exclusive.

Good for Kool-aid drinking. I like em too.

He played QB in major college ball. His perspective is different from others who are peripheral players in the program.

Ponamsky is a hack who got into the local media by giving Hannagriff, Gordy, Mike Detilier and Moscona carte blanche writing on his little, never heard of, web site. He got credibility from THEM, not by any exclusive info from his own sources. Good business decision to ride these guys' popularity coattails, though.
I trust Gordy and Charles' insider info a whole lot more than this stuttering idiot.

I get that, and he was answering completely different questions. I was just disappointed that a former quarterback would actually think that after only 7 games it my be time to switch quarterbacks. I though that was absolutely ridiculous. Look at last year. AJ Macarron was average at best all season, and he carved us up in the NC game. It takes time, he should know that and tell the fans that more importantly.

I hate when former players constantly talk about their playing days and compare current players to how "great they were".

newsflash, nobody gives a shite.

His perspective could be used, sure, problem is in the way he delivers it. He sounds like a drunk Uncle Rico talking about how he could've been Heisman or some shite. There hasn't been a SINGLE time that Risher has been on the radio where he doesn't remind everyone that he played QB LSU and in the USFL. He says it at least 6 times a post-game. I hate listening to him. Charlie kind of got on him a bit Saturday for his constant ripping of Mett. He's needs to be honest with himself and realize 1982 football was a completely different animal than what it is today.

Btw, it's only a matter of time before it's Charlie and Mascona.

I'm not a fan of Risher. Pomansky would add more IMO.

To be fair to Alan, he keeps saying that Les Miles passing game is far less detailed than his 1982 passing game. I didn't hear the part about perhaps it's time to sit Mett, but I have heard him routinely complain that LSU's passing game is very basic and has no imagination or complex route schemes at all.

I would completely support T-Bob. I love hearing first hand knowledge from a recent former player. He called it last week that JD would come in and have a great game against Clowney. I was skeptical to say the least, but he was right.

He said if Mett continues to struggle this weekend Les should think about making a change in the 2nd half to see what you have with Rivers before Alabama so we don't find ourselves in the same situation as 1/9.

That is correct, and I think that would be a terrible idea. Les will never do that, and he shouldn't.

well, when you have Mack brown drawing up your plays, it SHOULD be more complex.

Thanks, I was busy during the first part of the post game show , but I tuned in to catch a good portion of the show until it went off the air. It's odd to hear Alan say that because most of the time he gives good criticism of Mett, but isn't too quick to place all of the blame on his shoulders.

As for the original post of replacing Risher with Ponamsky, that would suck. I don't need 2 hours of recruiting updates, and that's the only inside scoop that Ponamsky brings to the table.
