Basically talking about raising his own strain of bluegill and using the small ones to feed his large mouth, the bluegill+gel tabs is giving his large mouth between 1.5-2 pounds.. that's pretty amazing.

He said that he has some large mouth that is within a half a pound of the Nebraska state record

If this new job is half what I expect it to be, I should be digging my pond/building my house within 6 months - 1 yeqr. Can't wait.

Why are you/they pro liner? My pond is 4+acres and that seems expensive as hell. Also, are the better than swimming pool liners because they suck?

Greg Grimes discusses stocking costs/prices and proper growth management

Holy shite, 4+ acres is huge.. and yeah, it is gonna be tad bit costly. My dad used firestone pond liner, and it pretty awesome. Here is the thing though, I highly recommend the toughest most durable pond liner you can find, why? Crawfish, especially Louisiana crawfish I think can wreck havoc on a pond imo. But I can talk for days about pond liner for days..

also, cut down all trees within 50-60 yards if possible, nothing is worse than the sediment buildup that builds on the bottom of a pond and gunks it up. Before my dad and I started doing leaf control a few years ago, we had to drain the pond because of a leak, (we have a cave that runs below our pond, hillbilly problems), well when we drained it we had 3+ inches of buildup just from leaves, we had to take out over 2000+ painter buckets of the stuff out before we refilled it and restocked it

I highly recommend coming up here for the conference next year, it is worth it just to be at big cedar lodge.. johnny morris always hooks up the pond boss folks because him and bob lusk are really tight and people that attend get special rates..

But of course this year it has rained non stop since this morning, doesn't look like i'll be able to make it out to the lake this year..

WTF? I don't have one, should I? And as to why? My pond is about 2 ac ranging from 4' to 13'. My make up is from a deepwell. I also have a airator.

Also! Before I forget, don't get the glue they true to sell you for the liner. Get the next generation silicon caulk for showers and stuff at lowes. It is less expensive and 5x better than that shitty glue

I'll put it this way, if you can get clay.. get clay. It is cheaper and you can pack it down to the way you want. Just Google using clay for ponds, should have a get bit of info on it on the Pond Boss Forum

Yes, but you should still get some and pack it down at least 4", remember there are still sinkholes in La

I have clay and I had it packed. Yes, I still loose water, but I'm able to make up faster then my lost rate.

I will be doing a draw down this winter for grass control. I have a few spots that are starting to get a bit big.

imo no matter what you do you are gonna lose water just from evaporation, but you know that

as for the grass control, it is a non-stop battle

I picture you filling a empty paint bucket with leaves and carrying it out of pond and dumping it.

Please tell me you did not do this with a paint bucket. And I sure as hell hope you did not keep a running tally while you did this.

Day 2

This dude talks about electrofishing

Yup, had too.. can't get the tractor in there because it would tear the line liner, so had to do it the old fashioned way

When I say 2000+, it was about 1000 trips, about 500 a piece for my dad and I

We used these..
