Well, that sucks. Whatever happened to calling out and asking someone to identify himself before blasting away? That's what they do in the movies!

Condolences to the family. That is an extremely tragic situation for them to have to deal with.

Something like this was on the OT last week I think about a dad shooting his son breaking in to his neighbor's house or something. Hearbreaking.

While I agree with the idea and it makes sense, that's not the case in this instance. The homeowner had a gun and used it. If you're trolling, forgive me, it's 3 am here in Athens and I'm "studying" for a test I have tomorrow

Like someone else said... how about asking "who's there" before popping off? And why shoot to kill? Shoot someone in the damn leg, unless you think you are going to be murdered then and there.

That's one of the principle rules of gun control/safety. Don't aim your gun at anything you don't intend on killing.

I would love to see if you could be that accurate with the adrenaline flowing through your body as an intruder, or someone who you think may be an intruder in this case, comes into your house.

Then when he gets in court suing your ass, he will tell the jury he was there collecting fonations for the church and not trying to harm anybody and you will be paying him for the rest of your life. The guy should have called out first though and not just started blasting.

\ I am center mass everytime. Much easier to hit the middle of the target in an adrenaline situation than a limb.

"He's in pretty good health except for some bumps and bruises from playing basketball," Griffin told the Tribune. "I don't know if his age had a lot to do with it." "And I guess he assumed my brother was at home sleeping, and when someone came in the back door, he just naturally assumed it was an intruder," Stephen said of his father. Wtf? Who gives a shite about bumps and bruises when your brother was just shot? Sounds like this dude is almost happy his brother was killed, but sad his father was the one to do it. Article doesn't once express his remorse over losing his brother. Could just be editing, but that was really weird to read.

He should have had a flashlight... if he had followed the rules of gun safety, this wouldn't have happened.

Why would you shoot anybody unless you felt that you or someones life was in immediate danger?

The more gun owners increase, the less and less they will follow these gun "principles" and rules. People will begin to take justice into their own hands and many innocent people will die or be seriously injured, and sadly like this case it may be someone very close to them.

1. Not easy like you think 2. People die from being shot in the leg 3. You shoot bad guy in leg, he laughs at you and shoots you in the head. 4. You die if #3 happens
