Can the draw length be adjusted a half an inch without changing the cams? My draw length is 28.5 so if I bought a 28/29 can the draw length be increased/decreased by half an inch without a buying a new cam?

No, the cams has to be changed out. But I have heard of some guys getting the string twisted to shorten the draw a half inch or so.

You can get a 28.5 inch cam. Like was said above, you can fudge a little putting in or taking out twists in the string, but you'll have a hard time getting the bow in spec if you do that.

I would look for one with the right cam. If you find a good deal on a 28in cam you can get the extra half inch from the string loop. Try not to get one with a longer draw length; Its easier to shoot a short draw length than one thats too long.
