Start him on Recess, graduate to Boy Meets World in junior high, Freaks and Geeks and Arrested Development in High School, give him Wire/BreakingBad/It'sAlwaysSunny/SouthPark as gifts while in college, BoardwalkEmpire/CurbYourEnthusiasm for his MBA, Cosmos for his PhD, and Soprano's after he becomes CEO of a Fortune 500. Already got the plan laid out.

ETA: Twin Peaks for his Nobel Prize

Freaks and Geeks as a teenager to show them that we both are usually irrationable. But mostly you.

FNLs the movie to my young son to show why football is fricking awesome even just at the HS level

Show him the Nolan trilogy of Batman and then show him Batman and Robin to establish his ability to differ good movies from bad ones

Hopefully ill be able to get him early on Star Wars/ the 6th sense just so i can see his shock. Ive never gotten an honest reaction because those are so ingrained into Pop culture

Ill show them A League Of Their own and conduct research on whether Dottie dropped it or not

Lion King and other Disney classics because im not inhumane.

As the parent of a daughter, I want her to see things with strong heroines defined by their own success, not the success of some man. I want her to see things like Firefly and Buffy (she'll be a Whedonite, right?). Or even things like the original Terminator (Linda Hamilton kicks so much arse) or Alien (Ripley, FTMFW). Or even overly sentimental things like Fried Green Tomatoes. And, of course, To Kill a Mockingbird.

And, man, I hope Belle is her favorite Disney princess as she actually had her own ambitions.

And then we'll watch The Wire. Because it's awesome.

If I have kids I got a pretty damn good list on things I want them to see. Don't know where to start:

Looney Tunes
Star Wars
The Lord of the Rings
Indiana Jones
Pretty much every Disney, Pixar, and Miyazaki film
The Goonies
Pretty much every Bond film
LOST
Harry Potter
Avatar Series
Batman: The Animated Series
Nolan's Batman Trilogy
Gargoyles
Justice League
Avengers
Seinfeld

And I could keep going, but he/she will finish all these shows/films by the time they turn 10. Then I'll move onto the good stuff like Blazing Saddles.
